A bit far from food and attractions, so you'll need a car. Spend the extra money for an oceanfront room, the view of the sunrise every morning is worth it.

I wasn't comfortable in the room from the moment I walked in. I was unable to get a refund or I would've checked out. The carpet could have been vacuumed a little better and the bathtub had a crack in it. I did not like the smell in the room as well, and it would have been nice to have a screen door on the balcony so we could let the fresh air in. The only thing I did like were they the way the beds looked, but I also think that they could have been freshened up a bit because the sheets had a dry musky smell to them.

My room smelled like marijuana the whole time as well as the halls. The hot tub was out of order, even though the staff told us to enjoy the spa area. Then bed was stiff as a board. Their breakfast cafe was was over priced. There were patch marks all over the doors and walls where there had been holes in them. The evelators decided not to work every day. I will not be staying here again.

This hotel was horrible. First they gave us a room with no curtains so we requested another room. They then gave us another room that was occupied. So the third room was ocean view. Nope ...... there was construction right outside the hotel and started st 7 am every morning. Then the hotel staff was walking in hallways with walkie talkies full blast at 8 am. Hot tub didn't work for 3 days and roof was falling in on back deck.

Horrible. The was roaches all over the room every night. Sink leaked all over the floor. Cigaret butts tossed on our balcony. I wasted my money

It is a shame that a hotel with such a great location would be allowed to get so rundown. I am not sure of the ownership structure, but it obviously needs a large cash infusion. When we arrived, I knew immediately that I had made a mistake. Stepping inside the lobby confirmed it. The room was even worse. Luckily, it was only a one night stay.

Staff was excellent! Very helpful and understanding.

My only complaint is the bathroom tub had plaster on it.

For the price, I believe this facility is a fair value. The staff was very friendly - I had conversations with two of them. The room was spacious and clean (to a moderate standard). The room had a large fridge and other nice amenities. The pool and spa were closed due to storm damage, but that's no fault of the hotel. Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Sun and Sands.

The experience was nice the staff was great and very accommodating unfortunately due to the hurricane the pool was open which we were all looking forward to other than that it was a great stay!

We decided to visit the hotel less than a week after a major storm had hit. We planned the trip weeks in advance, that is just how it happened. The hotel was in minor disarray, but it was to be expected. The only complaint I have is that the room smelled like it had been wet! It also had a damp feel. Although the hotel was nice, I felt like it should have been cleaner on the inside or condition explained to patrons in advance.

The front desk clerk was super nice and welcoming....the only thing were the beds and pillows not that comfortable and the overall building needs some upkeeping rooms were clean just the flooring in elavator was damaged and walls were beat up as well.

Wonderful experience! The staff was wonderful, and hotel was very clean and comfortable!
