For the price, I believe this facility is a fair value. The staff was very friendly - I had conversations with two of them. The room was spacious and clean (to a moderate standard). The room had a large fridge and other nice amenities. The pool and spa were closed due to storm damage, but that's no fault of the hotel. Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Sun and Sands.

The experience was nice the staff was great and very accommodating unfortunately due to the hurricane the pool was open which we were all looking forward to other than that it was a great stay!

We decided to visit the hotel less than a week after a major storm had hit. We planned the trip weeks in advance, that is just how it happened. The hotel was in minor disarray, but it was to be expected. The only complaint I have is that the room smelled like it had been wet! It also had a damp feel. Although the hotel was nice, I felt like it should have been cleaner on the inside or condition explained to patrons in advance.

The front desk clerk was super nice and welcoming....the only thing were the beds and pillows not that comfortable and the overall building needs some upkeeping rooms were clean just the flooring in elavator was damaged and walls were beat up as well.

Older hotel, our room was ok, the view was great, but the hotel itself is in a bit of disrepair. The air conditioning drains were falling off the building, the large deck on the beach was falling apart. The staff was helpful and friendly! This hotel has tons of potential if the owners quit milking it for money. Room rates were reasonable

We booked this hotel not too far in advance, but wanted a quick weekend getaway at an oceanfront hotel. Check-in and check-out were SUPER easy, but we were kind of underwhelmed by the amenities. The room was OK, but the tub faucet leaked, and the toilet ran. There was no fan so the bathroom steamed up anytime you took a shower. There was only one mirror and it was in the bathroom, so I couldn't put makeup on while my husband was showering. Also, only one trash can, which I found odd. The pool only got sunlight in the morning and was chilly by the afternoon. The pool deck was falling apart and there was leaking from higher floors onto the walkways outside. We did appreciate how close it was to the beach and to attractions in Myrtle. Overall, we were content with our stay, but probably will not return.

My only issue was the parking garage. The entrance was very dangerous. Barely enough room for 2 cars and it was only 1 way in and 1 way out.

It was wonderful! We had the best service. The front desk and maintenance were great at what they did. Lissa was amazing!

They checked me into a room that was already occupied. The elevators stopped working and the manager and staff did not have the key to re-set it. We had to wait on the Fire Department to come with a key. The TV did not work in my room and they weren't sure if Time Warner was coming the next day to hook it up. The hotel is dirty. The pool area is dirty. The outside deck is falling apart. If you're used to slumming, then this is the place for you! If not, you should book elsewhere. I checked out 2 hours after checking in.

the room smelled really bad as sson as we walked in, the shower curtain was too short, there was water all over the bathroom floor and out into the doorway. some type of bug bit my kids, probably bed bugs. both pools were NASTY! theyre dirty.

The hotel wasn't fantastic, but the room itself was nice, especially for the price. Would stay there again if I was on a budget, or a last minute trip.

I am not much for writing reviews but I felt I needed to for this hotel experience. First I was disappointed that I was tricked by Orbitz into thinking the Ocean View Balcony room that I got was different than a Side View Balcony room, they are not!!! They are the SAME rooms but are priced differently on Orbitz website, the Side View listing is cheaper, had I known this I would have reserved this instead since it IS THE SAME ROOM!!! Regarding the rooms they were filthy. Hair in the tub, hair scattered throughout the bathroom floor, a speck of blood was even on the bathroom floor. Dead bugs behind the toilet. Towels had stains, fortunately I brought my own from home and used them! Pillows were 12" wide and flat, again fortunately we brought some from home and used our own. Needless to say we kept our shoes on the whole time we were in our room. I would Never stay here again. The only plus is the the parking wasn't terrible, didn't have to wait forever on an elevator, and the in-room a/c worked fine.

We were able to check in quickly and an hour early

Booked ocean front got city view. used parking garage stairwell down. assuming use level 1 or 2 and both blocked off and dirty as could be. Bed sheets stained. Flies everywhere at bar.

My Husband and I went parasailing and rode the banana boats and it was wonderful we loved it.We always get an oceanfront room with balcony so we can sit and enjoy the site. Just love everything about Myrtle Beach SC

I wanted ocean front I got a room with a side view room was being remodeled wasn't finished the indoor pool floor was flooded the toilet ran all night and day

Hotel was nice for the price. Pool water was cold even on the hottest day. Staff was very friendly. Great view with oceanfront.

right hotel, wrong time

We decided to visit the hotel less than a week after a major storm had hit. We planned the trip weeks in advance, that is just how it happened. The hotel was in minor disarray, but it was to be expected. The only complaint I have is that the room smelled like it had been wet! It also had a damp feel. Although the hotel was nice, I felt like it should have been cleaner on the inside or condition explained to patrons in advance.

Older hotel, our room was ok, the view was great, but the hotel itself is in a bit of disrepair. oceanfront hotel left us underwhelmed
