We booked the Silver Screening Room for a small event on September 16, 2017. I can't say enough about the helpful and attentive assistance provided by every staff member in advance of that night and during the event. The venue was exceptional and the catering for the film night was fabulous. Truly world class customer service. We truly felt like we were treated like royalty. Kudos to Dina for her exceptional care and commitment to excellence. You made our special day even more delightful! C D Stewart & Family
I was looking for a relaxing getaway in the city and decided to try the spa at the Hazelton in the heart of Yorkville. Upon my arrival I was greeted by the warm and welcoming spa manager Jessica who showed me around the spa and amenities. The spa has a nice ambience with dimly lit lighting - really set the mood for my relaxing escape. I enjoyed the salt water pool and steam room after my service. I'm looking forward to coming back!!
Incredible weekend getaway with my wife. Impeccable service. The rooms are stunning and the food at ONE (the restaurant) superb. A must place to stay in Toronto. The hotel is located in the heart of Yorkville shopping district.
My husband surprised me with a week-end stay at the Hazelton Hotel – what a spectacular vacation right in the city. From the arrival in the beautiful lobby area where I was warmly greeted, I went straight into dinner at One. The atmosphere at the restaurant is perfect for an intimate dinner. Service was really fantastic, with great recommendations from our server. We were able to take our time and really enjoy the dinner experience - pre-dinner cocktails, appetizer, mains and even a dessert!! All wonderful. The room was absolutely luxurious – very spacious, very well appointed with plenty of room for all our belongings and quite possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The bedside lighting and window covering controls were much appreciated convenience. Loved the great art furnishing throughout the main floor and on the upper floors. Truly a first class product. We had spa appointments the next morning for a little more luxury. We were able to use the pool and gym facilities that are shared with Hazelton residence owners. The facilities are great – changerooms with everything you need from steam room to showers and amenities to get ready, a small but well equipped gym and a pool. My only comment is that upon arriving at the spa reception area, because we had the first appointment of the day and arrived a bit early, there was no one around to greet us an show us where everything was, so we had to explore a bit on our own. Massages were fantastic and the rooms relaxing and spacious. Overall a really fantastic experience and I felt like I left the day to day of city life behind for a couple of days!!
I normally stay at the Four Seasons when in Toronto, but I decided to try The Hazelton this past trip, as both hotels are in Yorkville and The Hazelton took the former Four Seasons space when the Four Seasons moved to its current Yorkville location. Overall I have to say that I liked the Hazelton but would consider it my second choice when staying in Toronto. The specifics are below: Location: I have to say that I much prefer the location of The Hazelton Hotel to the Four Seasons. While they are both well located, The Hazelton is in what will once again be the Heart of Yorkville shopping especially with the Yorkville Commons next door. It is nice to be able to walk 200 yards and have a whole foods, world class shopping and a Soul Cycle available. Rooms: Both the Four Seasons and The Hazelton have large, well appointed rooms. This is likely because the Hazelton kept the footprint of the old Four Seasons so the rooms while decorated in a different style are just as spacious. The Four Seasons has the edge hear because their rooms are newer and have updated tech. Specifcally, all Four Seasons rooms have iPads in them which tell you the weather and other hotel information. They also have plugs for your phone cords so if you are traveling from overseas you do not have to worry about using an adapter. The Hazelton rooms are well maintained but the age is showing and they really do need an update. My room, for example, the rug was slightly frayed and the headboard was slightly damaged. I will say that the bed at the Hazelton was extremely comfortable and I slept very well. The Hazelton also had nicer bath amenities. Service: The service is excellent in both hotels. When I got to my room there was a note, a bowl of fresh fruit and some fresh baked cookies. I have had similar experiences at the Four Seasons. Also, both staffs addressed me by name when re- entering the hotel, so I will say that I can not fault either hotel on service. Spa, Pool and Gym: I did not have a chance to use these facilities at the Hazelton so I can not offer a comparison. Lobby and General Decor: The Hazelton has a much darker decor and the hallways while very spacious are dark and have that night club feel that you get in trendy hotels like the W. The Four Seasons has a brighter motif so while it is a matter of person preference I do prefer the decor at the Four Seasons. Facilities Fee; The Hazelton charges a facilities fee, presumably for soft drinks in the mini bar, water and the newspaper. There is no facilities fee at the Four Seasons. I have to say, that with hotels of this caliber and other city hotels, I get annoyed when I see these types of fees. The hotel should offer the paper, water and amenities for free as this is a luxury hotel and it just annoys me to see this added on to my bill as a facilities fee especially given that the room was already almost $600CN . Overall, I would stay at this hotel again, but other than the location I prefer the Four Seasons.
We loved this place. Great central location with a really good vibe and lovely restaurants. Like staying in a cooler, less frenetic version of Knightsbridge in London! Staff were amazing and so welcoming, Room was also amazing with lots of space. We were there with 2 adults and 2 kids as part of a 6 week trip around North America and this was our favourite hotel by a mile. Having been in so may hotels where they try to screw you out of every last cent it was so nice to stay somewhere where they said 'here's the fridge - help yourself to soft drinks and snacks - they're on us' Sums the place up really. Loved it
The Hazleton is an all time Classic! Located in an amazing area - close to everything and surrounded by great restaurants - THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY!!!! The service and the staff are impressive and the rooms beautifully finished. A must!
My husband and I stayed at the Hazleton for our wedding night, being that we live 20mins from the city it felt as though we were in a different city. From check-in to check-out it was an absolute pleasure, the customer service is top notch. Very friendly, professional and accommodating. The location couldn't get any better, in the heart of the Bloor-Yorkville area you can walk everywhere. We had the perfect room, open balcony doors facing the street filled with people and restaurants, which is nearly impossible to find in the city, really gave us that European flare. All the minor details were amazing, heated washroom floors, tv screen in the washroom mirror, rainforest shower head, stacked mini bar with premium alcohol and the amazing espresso machine, the list goes on!! Very clean and comfortable. Needless to say we highly recommend this hotel rather your from out of town or not. This hotel is comparable to none! Thanks to the Hazelton Hotel and the amazing staff for making our stay memorable!!
The staff really make this hotel. Special thanks to Dean the concierge and Dina the receptionist who were really just lovely and helped make my stay in Toronto enjoyable. The hotel is modern and spacious. I didn't have the best room unfortunately, looking out on a brick wall, but the bathroom and bed were perfect, the inclusive minibar a great surprise, and the turndown service a nice touch that seems to be disappearing in many similar price point properties. There were plenty of power outlets even next to the bed -- gold star Hazelton. Oh and the music dock was iPhone 5 and up for a change. The spa was also great and I enjoyed both my massage and treatment. I also found the restaurant to be good and accommodating to a party of one. The only thing I could fault would be that when I arrived by taxi the door staff did not help with the bags however the rest of the time they were super courteous. All things considered I would happily stay here again should I find myself in Toronto.
The Hazelton Hotel has been by far one of the best hotel accommodations I've ever experienced. Not to mention it's the most memorable as well! Due to It's world class service from the staff and most importantly the one and only Umesh Hira. I was very fortunate to have had Umesh Hira assist me with my stay. What an incredible lad! The moment I parked my car in I had the staff assist me with luggage, water and a delicious red apple as I came in for a terribly late check in. Afterwards is when I encountered the fine gentlemen named Umesh Hira, who kindly and rapidly upgraded my room due to some very minor discrepancies in regards to being overbooked for a certain room entailing world class service! Haven't seen anything like it, done at such an incredible and efficient pace. Which was absolutely perfect for me considering I had a meeting early that morning. The room was incredibly lovely, the pictures online do not do it justice. The "One restaurant", is a must regardless if you are staying at "The Hazelton Hotel" or not. One of the classiest places in Toronto, with an outstanding patio! The service is great! Furthermore their menu is that much better! For breakfast I would highly recommend the Eggs Benedict or Smoked Salmon Risotto following their warm soft cookies and shake. One of the best pairings in the city! For dinner I would recommend their Branzino, one of the best I've had. Also their steaks are cooked to perfection of your liking, they definitely have acquired very experienced and talented Chef's in their Kitchen. Private Screening, this is a feature Umesh brought to my attention creating one of the most memorable dates I've ever experienced. That's all thanks to him, the way he accommodated us was above and beyond expectations. Everything was planned seamlessly. Popcorn and fruits was a phenomenal treat! We did end up watching a classic "Gone with the Wind". Therefore he made sure to provide some coffee for us as well to enjoy the four hour long classic. Furthermore it was pleasing to see Umesh having a soft and rather sensitive side to him contrasting well with his charismatic personality, providing us a warm blanket in the chilled theatre room to snuggle! I had also booked a Private screening for the Floyd Mayweather and Mcgregor fight as well. Again Umesh and his world class service prevailed yet again providing an outstanding experience! We had "The One Restaurant" cater to us while we were enjoying the event providing excellent drinks, appetizers and meals with such rapid service! I was extremely satisfied and grateful to have come across such a versatile amenity. To conclude, I will never stay at another hotel while I'm in Toronto! Nothing compares to the Hazelton standards. Not to mention they don't have the great Umesh Hira either to ensure you are properly taken care of, having a memorable stay while experiencing a world class service provided by "The Hazelton Hotel". With great pleasure, Victor Manda
