Chelsea Hotel, Toronto

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Generally fine, but rooms and fitness room were dated. Carpets need to be replaced. Bathrooms underwhelmed. Lobby and dining was great, though.

The Chelsea's location is great for exploring many areas of downtown and the staff were very nice and helpful. The lobby is updated and has a couple of restaurants, but we did not try either of them. The room itself was disappointing. Granted, it is an older hotel, our room was not updated as what you would have expected walking through the lobby. The section of the hall our room was in seemed more like an afterthought, rather two storage areas that had been converted into 4 separate rooms at some point. The bathroom had an old heat lamp fixture, a toilet that would continuously run that had multiple old rubber bath mats inside the tank, and the room as a whole was insulated poorly. Our stay coincided with a fluke ice storm in April and we could not keep it warm despite turning the heat up to nearly 90 degrees. If you're going to stay here, it might be worth paying for an upgrade or booking through their 1865 loyalty program for a nicer stay.

very close to bars and restaurants. walking distance to Toronto square and union station.

Busy the night I stayed and had a lot of commotion with other guest loud in their rooms

A great place to stay for a quick weekend with friends and good music in a beautiful city. Close to everything, great views, comfortable everything.

There is a rumor that the hotel will be torn down and replaced with condos. I hope not, there are already too many condos and not enough hotels in downtown Toronto, plus the staff are excellent and do not deserve to lose their jobs through no fault of their own.

This hotel came highly recommended and did not disappoint in any way. Great staff and delicious breakfast menu.

Stay away from the cafe ... Hugely expensive. You can't bring alcoholic purchases to your room. Instead you'll have to pay extra for room service

Great location in the heart of downtown. Next to plenty of restaurants and shopping. Very close to the lake as well.

Rooms are a little tires. For the money the bathrooms should be updated and there was no fridge or microwave in the room.

Very good place close to Toronto’s enterteimemt district, easy access to restaurants, shopping and clubs, I’m sick of writing, I think that’s too much, I really don’t wanna write anymore, why are you guys making me write this much, ok I think I’m not gonna submit this review and it’s gonna be your fault.

very clean, friendly and helpful staff. food was good in the hotel.

We were able to walk or take the subway everywhere. Location was very central. Hotel is quite nice, older but well kept. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool, and view from floor 27. Very nice breakfast available for purchase. Helpful staff.

Friendly staff and very helpful. Easy to find and I like that they have valet parking at the hotel. Some places don't always accommodate for our large truck, but they did. Thanks!

Had a great time hotel was in prime location and will return next time in in Canada

The hotel is clean, safe, and centrally located. The staff was extremely helpful. It turned out to be much better than I anticipated based on reviews posted on your website. The only issue I would have had was checkout as there always seemed to be long lines during checkout and check-in times. However, since my flight out was so early, it was not an issue for me. I would stay at this hotel again in an instant.

Check in was very easy took about 10 minutes the staff was exceedingly pleasant and helpful answering questions about the area in the hotel.

Hotel Chelsea was most impressive and would be honored to stay again and with very low cost.

Walking distance to most everything (food, entertainment, public transportation). Staff was very helpful. Facilities were clean and good assortment of exercise equipment with whirlpool/pool.
