The staff was great! The room and the hotel are dated and had some issues. For example, there were significant water stains by the window and mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Also, we had to have maintenance come tell us to run the hot water for a long time to get it to warm up. The water got hot after running the hot water for 5 minutes, but it was an odd experience. University Plaza is in a great location and there is lots to do around the area.

the ac/vents did not work, so the room was very warm bordering on hot. The carpet needs to be shampooed and/or placed. Long black hair from the previous occupant was in and around the bathroom sink (my hair is short and brown). I did not see many staff members.

The facility was nice and clean. Bed comfortable. I always enjoy fresh brewed coffee made in the lobby of most hotels. I think a lot of coffee drinkers would agree. There was no coffee in the lobby. I went to the Peek shop to buy fresh brewed coffee twice between 6:10 and 6:30. No one was there and they open at 6:00. I ended up getting in my car and going to McDonalds for coffee. I was on a time schedule so I could not keep checking to see if someone showed up at Peek. Disappointed at the lack of fresh brewed coffee.

The hotel was nice. I stayed there for a local card show as I was a traveling vendor. I booked through Expedia and the hotel needed a card on file for incidentals. The incidental charge was dropped and then I was charged another smaller fee and they didn’t tell me nor put what this charge was for. I checked in and checked out the next morning early. Literally just slept overnight and that was it. No issues. Do not like how I was charged extra

Mismanaged, disorganized and dirty!

The property is impossible to communicate with. Rarely can you get someone on the phone to communicate with you about your stay in a timely fashion. Sending messages to them will get you no where, as they do not reply in a timely fashion. Voicemails are full - the reservation desk cannot even transfer you to the front desk. They are understaffed and truly do not care about your customer experience. The rooms are not in great condition. Overall, would never stay here again. Way too much trouble and in need of a new management plan for such a great location!

Excellent staff! Older hotel with some kinks but hotel staff did everything they could to accommodate and made it easy to get towels when you have dogs in the room. Very inexpensive room rate. Only downside is if you’re looking to eat at the hotel the restaurant wasn’t always open, staffed, and ran out of food. That said, PLENTY of walkable options to eat elsewhere unless you’re extremely disabled. Not perfect but they certainly did their best Especially under the circumstances of how many simultaneous conferences were going on and how full the hotel was.

The room we stayed in had a smell to it. The bathroom had some issues. There was a nonfunctional handrail broke with a long nail or bolts sticking out, you are unable to control the fan for the ac either have it on with a loud fan or turn it off and allow the room to over heat with unusually hot weather. The pool was pretty dirty, like it had not been scrubbed down or vacuumed in a while.
