I really wanted to love this property. My husband and I stayed at the River Street Inn on 5/9/23 on the way to another destination and I had already reserved to stay there again on 5/18/23 on the way back. Our first stay was fine until around 3:00 am when the AC began making terrible noises that kept us awake for the rest of the night. That was room 321. On the way back, we stayed in room 331 and the shower wouldn't drain properly, threatening to spill onto the floor. Also, the safe wouldn't work. The staff, however, was wonderful (especially Nicole) apart from a snarky housekeeper who didn't believe we had an approved late checkout. I'm not sure if it was just bad luck for us or if the property has an understaffed maintenance team. I reported all issues to the front desk so I hope they are resolved now.
The entire staff from the front desk, valet, housekeeping were all extremely friendly, polite and professional. The hotel is part of the old Savannah Cotten Exchange building from 1886....amazing renovations and decor. The hotel is within walking distance of the waterfront and dining and shopping and the numerous squares (parks) in the area. We will definitely be back!
Nicole running the front was amazing. The valet, Brice was extraordinary. The hotel is beautiful and there is sooo much to do. I am extremely happy with this hotel visit.
The staff was very accommodating and pleasant.
Very old historic hotel. Restraints part of the hotel. Great food. Staff was friendly and professional.
Loved the beds and the room . Hotel staff were wonderful
Well staffed, clean, comfortable and well appointed rooms. The managers reception was excellent. The location was very convenient to all of downtown Savannah’s attractions.
Great location and great room
EXCELLENT location for River St & Bay St. definitely get a river view room !! Worth it !!
I loved that it blended right into the River front. Loved the unique feel of the hotel and the location was perfect.
Beautiful property! Very convenient location
The hotel has character and is in a great location. However, the rooms were not serviced daily and were dirty. The light fixture and baseboards had inches of dust on them. Peeling paint and visible water damage in the room. We found one of our beds without a mattress cover (not sanitary) and requested service. Had to request service twice before were finally told that they didn't have any. Staff were friendly.
Loved it! Great experience for our overnight.
This hotel was in the best location and full of history. You are close to everything here and the rooms are lovely. We didn’t receive our VIP perk which sucked but we did enjoy our time.
