First, they make it sound like valet is optional but if you want to park onsite, valet is the only option. Second, we got the key to our room only to find out the card reader was dead for our hotel room. Went back to the front desk and was told engineering would meet us at our room to swap the battery. Waited 30 minutes and no one came. Called front desk from complimentary phone at elevators for status and they said they would check and call back. Waited another 15 mins and still no response. Decided to go to dinner and hopefully it would be fixed when we got back. Got back 2 hours after check in and the battery was still dead. Front desk staff acted as if waiting over 2 hours to gain access to our room was totally acceptable and that us complaining was an inconvenience to them. Also, our welcome email said there would be 2 free waters in the room, but there weren’t any once we finally gained access. I get that engineering was busy but if a guest is unable to get into the room they’ve paid for, that should be a priority. Waiting over 2 hours is ridiculous for the price of this hotel. I feel like they could have at least comped a day of the valet parking we ended up having to pay for instead of acting like it wasn’t a big deal and we should be okay just hanging out in the hall waiting around with our luggage.
