This was, by far, one of the worst hotel stays EVER!!! I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotel chains, but this stay at Double Tree Hotel by the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport was a true disappointment.
I want to start off with my room. Aesthetics alone were not good with the dated furniture. Top it off with a dirty bathroom and it just magnified my displeasure. The sink still had the shavings of a previous customer. Then, I was awaken around 0330 from a sound sleep to a dog that just kept barking and barking. I was unable to go back to sleep and I had a 0700 meeting that was extremely important to me. I called the front desk to report this and was told they already received complaints about it and were working on rectifying the issue. I was later told that people with pets are usually placed on the second floor, so I am assuming the guest did not disclose that they had a pet.
I later went to the desk and asked if the dog issue was resolved so I wouldn’t have to deal with it again on my last night. I was assured that issue was resolved and that the guest checked out. And then your associate had the nerve to ask me why didn’t I call and report it. I was flabbergasted!!! I told her that yes, I did call and was told it was being taken care of. As an African American professional man, I am so sick of going to businesses and spending my well earned money only to encounter ignorant people who want to talk to you like you are their friend or family. Just horrible!!
