I work in catastrophe for property insurance and was in the area working for Hurricane Irma so was glad to have an apartment style room for 2 months. It was pretty clean and neat and the outdoor area taken care of. I heard of people I worked with having bugs in their rooms and some even moved. I had one bug but I think it came up through the bathtub drain so I just made sure to keep drains covered and never had another one. I only had breakfast there a couple of times but it was good when I did. Staff was always friendly and housekeeping did a good job. Con: Apartment style property so have to carry everything up to room. I requested a quiet room which faced the courtyard (723) and it was perfect except the flights of stairs when checking in or out and brining back groceries. Not everyone would like this. As a female traveling alone it is worth it for me to haul up everything since I feel safer in the upper floor. I had a studio style room. I would have liked to have had a desk for working but it was adequate. I would stay there again and go to The Battery but I would still recommend taking Uber due to having to cross a VERY busy street. Very convenient to go to Braves games when in season though.
Spacious and for the most part, pretty quiet place. Staff was kind. There was no dish soap or dish towel, and did find hair in tub. Breakfast bar was plentiful with a nice variety. Would stay again, overall, pretty nice place.
Probably the quietest hotel in the Atlanta area we've found. Our preference is for the individual apartment layouts, though the third floor walkup can be tough, it has a homey feel. The grounds are nicely landscaped and well maintained. Our room was a bit small, the bathroom tiny, but the fan over the bed was a nice touch. Ladies doing their best with the buffet in a crowded morning lobby -- good coffee. The hotel could really use an upgrade though, a roach scurried across the floor one night (hard to avoid in the South), furniture shabby, no hangars in the room, no dish soap or dish towel, and one needed to shoulder the door hard to enter the room. Once the investment is made to upgrade this place, it will be outstanding.
I must say I was surprised to read the most recent reviews when I sat down to write mine. I found the room spacious, the staff extremely accommodating and pleasant and the free breakfast was way above average in quality and number of choices. Our party included a wheelchair dependent man, and I booked the wrong type of room by mistake. The front desk could not have been more kind in re accommodating us. I had no issues with dated furnishings or creepy crawlers. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
I felt quality of food is low,bad and old rooms and it was smelling bad, cock roches inside room. I did feel comfortable during my stay. I could not sleep well due to noises I personally did not have a good experience
Stayed here while on business near the Cobb Galleria. Property needs some TLC and a good update. Decor is tired and worn. Room, though spacious, was not conducive for catching up on work. Electrical outlets limited, the USB ports/outlet strips available at other Residence Inn properties I've stayed at were non existent. Room decor tired, worn and dingy; closet racks full of dirt. I mentioned my disappointment to young Lady at front desk. She listened, and wasn't able to do anything. Wasn't expecting her to fix anything yet it would have been a nice gesture to get additional points for the inconvenience, especially as a loyal Marriott customer. If you're passing thru town, it may work for you to get a good nights rest. If you're on business, look elsewhere. I'll not stay here again. There are other Marriott properties nearby with better amenities that are business travel friendly. Very disappointing.
It's in a great location and the staff was pleasant. Everything else was deplorable. The bathroom (particularly the tub) was dirty and there were flying around the room when we arrived. Even though I didn't feel that I could get too comfortable in the bed because I was worried about how clean IT was, I showered and slept....only to have my son tell me the following morning that he killed a roach that was crawling around the bathroom sink area. I have NEVER been in such a filthy Marriott property! Very disappointing.
Although a great location to walk to ballpark , we were disappointed . As Marriott members we have come to expect more . First of all , the mattress in the pullout couch was terrible . Each spring was felt . There were no sheets , pillows or blankets for the extra bed and after coming there after a rainy walk home , we just wanted to plop into bed. The breakfast was nice . The cookies in the lobby were good too . Nice pool
I stay in Marriott Residence and Fairfield Inns 6-8 times per year for business and personal travel. My current trip is for business. The staff was friendly and the breakfasts were standard for this chain. This is the first Marriott property that I have stayed in in that does not have a desk. The kitchen table and chair is not a suitable substitute. Because my business requires writing reports on my laptop, the lack of a desk is a major issue and hard on my back. I was told that no desk is the new room configuration this chain is moving towards. I would not recommend this hotel for business travelers.
This Residence Inn is set up like an apartment complex with exterior entry to your room, which I don't care for as a female traveling alone. (Strike 1) Also, it didn't look like the most upstanding individuals were staying here when I was there. Then, I went to the happy hour reception and poured myself a glass of wine straight from the bottle and looked down and 2 flies were in my wine, so I lacked all confidence in the cleanliness of their kitchen/common areas. (Strike 2) I wasn't looking forward to what surprises breakfast might have. I went back to my room and killed a moth and a couple more little flying bugs (Strike 3) and decided this would be my first and only night staying there. My recommendation for them is to take care of the flying insect issue in the common areas/kitchen. My recommendation for you is to stay somewhere else.
