first hotel that i stay in with not even coffee at the lobby no coffee maker at the room just to name a few bottom line cheap in customer service expensive in any other charging customer never again

1. Great historic building that deserves more love and care. 2. Staff not that helpful... in one case front desk agent asked me why I hadn't come down sooner to collect a box shipped to me. I guess I work for them? 3. Rooms need updating ... for example my toilet did not work well. But well decorated... 4. Terrific location... perfect for me as a business traveler. 5. When I checked in no one told me about the amenities, hotel offerings such as Drag Brunch Sundays, or nesrby attractions -- standard ops for even Motel 6! The only reason why I rated as highly as i did is because I could tell management was trying. My suggestion: try harder. Much harder! Kimpton is usually so reliable ... what a disappointment! Especially in a market with SO many great competitors.

Hubby and I stayed 4 nights and found that local buses and trolleys got us everywhere we needed to go. The room was clean, stylish and comfortable. This is an historic boutique hotel with modern amenities. We enjoyed the complimentary daily happy hour . Staff was super friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

We have been charged resort fee Of $25 per night which was not explained to us at the time of check in. Not happy!

Charming, friendly, excellent location. Very clean, helpful and polite service, great food in adjacent restaurant.

Unfortunately, my stay did not live up to my expectations. While the staff is friendly, they are severely understaffed or badly managed-- hard to say. There were times I called the front desk/ guest services, and no one picked up. The phone rang and rang until I had to go downstairs in person to speak to someone. The times that I requested amenities or towels, they were never delivered until I had to re-request them, and even then, they would forget something or bring the wrong items. I'm not really sure why there was such a communication gap. However, like I said, the staff I encountered was friendly and the facilities are fine.

The staff was great the room was extremely small having a bathroom and shower that seem to be half to put together.

I usually love Kimpton hotels, but this one is in need of updating. Poor, dated quality at a high price.

This hotel is conveniently located near Union Square and the main lobby is gorgeous. Otherwise, the room, located on the third floor had almost no natural light with small high windows, facing a courtyard roof. I felt like I was in the maid's quarters. The best was sagging from an old or poor mattress. Lights/light switches were inconvenient. Some of the room decor felt old and out-of-date. It was serviceable, but not something I would recommend.

Great location. Room was great. Bar area/lobby comfortable and cool. Bartender both days we were there seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. Really hummed no one at check in told us about the Starlight room upstairs and some other things about the hotel. We found this out while checking out from the friendliest employee, the bellman. Super cool sports bar right across the street. Would stay again.

The staff was excellent so no complaints there. It's on old hotel and the rooms are very small with no refrigerator or coffee makers. The bathrooms are super small with no counter space. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff did a great job keeping it sparkling during our entire stay.

This hotel is very convenient and centrally located right off of Union Square. They have a wine reception from 5 - 6 p.m. in the lobby. The rooms are small but clean which is fine because we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.

My "delux queen room with city view" was tiny barely enough room to walk around the end of the bed, and I have seen airplanes with bigger bathrooms.

bathroom sooo small!!!!!!!!............. great staff

Upon my arrival my room type booked was not avilable. I was not informed of that until I got to my room and noticed that I was down graded. I called the front desk and they indeed agreed that I was not in the room type I had booked. I was told they had sold out of my room type so I had to take a less quality room. No apologies nothing was done. The sheets are marked with a permanent marker to show the size no dueve cover. Service is so slow 30 minutes to get a bellman at 7am. I come to check out the front desk agen is no where to be pound I waited at the desk for 5 minutes she then comes out licking her fingers and chewing on her breakfast. No good morning no how was your stay! Just gave me my balance and sent me on my way. This is by far the worst hotel experience ever! Not worth what I paid for

I required a hotel at which to stay while visiting family in the San Francisco area. This hotel located in walking distance of many of the sites of the City. It was a short walk to Chinatown. The Concierge staff is knowledgeable and help. The desk staff were courteous, efficient, and professional. I had a truly pleasant and relaxing experience! I recommend this hotel unreservedly!

Excellent hotel. Courteous and helpful staff. Convenient Location - Right off of Union Square and a 10 minute walk to Mosconi Convention Center. Excellent value for price.

Front Doorman was a hoot! Great service in a wonderful classic hotel.

This was our first time in San Fransisco , and The Sir Francis Drake Hotel was perfect . The staff were all friendly and attentive , and the location was great . If we come back , we will stay here again .

Nice location right near Union Square area. Room was small but nicely decorated. Bathroom was well appointed.
