the location is pretty convenient just few block away from the train station and union square. The building seems a little bit old and its kind of noisy at night

For a non picky couple on a budget, this is a vintage hotel, located in the middle of union square, that will work for you. But that’s not me, we are a family with a baby and I found that our stroller did not fit through the hotel elevator door. They have a old vintage elevator where you need to manually pull back the glass and metal door to get in and out. It’s very narrow. Not even a wheel chair could fit through the elevator door. Our room is on the second floor and imagine having to bring the stroller up and down on the elevator it was annoying and frustrating. If you are carrying a stroller or have a wheel chair look elsewhere. This is a small old hotel. It’s very dinky. They don’t have parking. The rooms are nothing special. No AC or heater. The rooms don’t come with your normal hair dryer or iron for clothes . It does come with the basics like towels, clean bed linen, blackout curtains, a fridge even, and desk, tv, and a little closet. Shower works ok. Nothing faulty in the rooms. Walls are thin. It’s a good deal only because it’s located in union square in the middle of all the department stores and the San Francisco mall.

It was a perfect location, right next to union square and walking distance to the bart station! The bed was really comfortable and there’s a tub!! I wish the curtain can cover up the entire window because I sleep in complete pitch black! There was no toilet in the lobby so I had to run to the Starbucks near by after check out...but I guess that’s just the city life...

Friendly and helpful staff, fun older elevator, small but comfortable room (a little bit quirky), great location (easy to walk to Union Square or Chinatown, close to BART), reasonable room rate.

Location, location, location!!! I really like this hotel cause everything is so close, also the MUNI and BART stations, you can walk everywhere, fair prices.
