prices are outrageous. Felt that the $50.00/day for the waterpark was unnecessary. There was the kitchenette in the room with a refrigerator that we couldn't use because it was stocked with stuff we didn't need. There was not enough staff at the restaurant even though it was advertised as welcoming for spring break. The rooms were ok but were not clean looking. the carpeting was worn and everything looked old and outdated for the prices that were charged. Was disappointed with that. The beds were very comfortable. Overall, the prices were too high and not enough staff.
The resort was great! Enough pool options , even though spring f break week, never felt crowded. My son does say they should not make their own marshmallows ,they were not tasty.
Only negative was the laundry machines are hard to access and there are no vending machines for detergent and change.
Was referred by a friend as I always stay with family when I am in Phoenix. The entire experience from the time we checked in to when we checked out was above my expectations. From the check-in staff, the individuals driving the carts, housekeepers, gym staff, waterpark staff, and the staff in the hotel restaurant. This was a get away trip for my son and I for his spring trip and we were both very impressed and will definitely be back to stay again!!!
I like this hotel because of the water park but the rooms are not great. The bathroom sink is the bedroom and toilet and tub are in an extremely small bathroom. You have to wedge yourself around the bathroom door just to close it. The pull out sofa bed is worse than most, but you can ask for an egg crate. The prices for food and drink at the pool are outrageous and the food is less than stellar. The $19 nachos are the best thing, but we spent $15 on a turkey burger that didn't even include french fries and the bun wasn't even toasted. If you want a pina colada expect to pay $14. You are not allowed to bring food or drink of any kind to the water park, but they do provide water coolers where you can fill a plastic cup. You will pay a $50 per day resort fee. They tell you that if you book through their hotel directly that you can get into the water park 30 minutes earlier than the rest of the guests but it is not worth the extra expense. You can always find a better deal on Orbitz or the like. When you go in 30 minutes early the only thing that is open is the pool. None of the slides are open. And there are plenty of lawn chairs so you don't need to worry about fighting for a spot.
No regrets. Room was clean and breakfast was nice. Wish we had another day there.
Have stayed at the Grand several times. The facilities are good, clean, convenient, friendly and the services and quality are dependable for my business travel needs. ne of these trips I will actuals squeeze a round of Golf in!
Rooms are quite worn. The room we were assigned smelled stale and musty. Not a good first impression. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. $50 / day resort fee seems high especially when the internet was spotty and we were not using the water park facilities. You can buy upgraded internet for $15/day but shouldn't that be covered in the standard resort fee? Overall, disappointing considering what we paid.
Rooms offered throughout to accommodate your interests. Water park was fun and private pools at each building were nice. Beds were comfortable. Only issue were the prices while there. $50 resort fee per day. Room service was incredibly expensive. If you stick to going to the restaurants it would be a less expensive trip.
Unfortunately this hotel was not worth the amount we paid. The food prices were outrageous, decor is dated and the rooms not even cleaned daily. The staff was inconsistent-some very polite and eager to serve and others slow and even rude. I did receive a prompt response from management when reporting my housekeeping complaint and the kids in our group certainly enjoyed the water park. All in all I expected much more and was sorely disappointed. With so many resorts to choose from in the area I will not return.
Outdated rooms, ancient weight room, way overpricedown food and spa, backdoored by $50 per day resort fee which is double the average
hotel dated needs upgrade, excessive coffee charges, poor free breakfast just coffee and pastry not very fresh. Disappointing. Daily facilities resort charge of no value.
I was disappointed to hear when I asked about late check out there was an additional fee. I had arrived after midnight and the necessity of a charge when requested late check out did not sit with me well.
The location is ideal and the resort beautiful! Rooms offer lots of space - we had a one bedroom suite and it was ideal! Beds comfortable, nice to have separate vanity outside of tub/toilet area plus full living space. In order to take advantage of the fridge you need to empty the mini bar but it is handy to have. Only downsides - slow (really slow) service in the restaurant but good food and the huge resort fee. The Oasis pool area which is covered in this fee is only open weekends from 11 - 4 at this time of year - I would think that the fee should reflect the minimal access and be somewhat lower because of this, we were not able to take advantage of the gym which is also included in the fee due to time constraints but there is no option on fee packages. $50 per day is not a small fee and value is questionable. This was our second time to this resort - would recommend it but only if you feel the value of the resort fee will work in your favor.
Staff is friendly. Hotel is very pretty. Great hiking area.
rundown, old, pools dirty, not very resort feeling
Very nice property. Be aware of the Resort fees. They were going to charge me $47/day for use of the water park (Closed except for weekends and my stay was Tue-Fri. Discounts on golf and I wasn't there to play golf) The in room coffee is horrible and even though the room is large its laid out oddly. (Only bathroom IN the master bedroom).
everything convenient and ideally located for our purpose
We took our family on a weekend getaway before school started. Beautiful Resort! Very family friendly. Would stay their every time We go back to Phoenix.
First off first impressions are the best..Driving into this grand resort and it's beauty is breathtaking! The greeting we recieved from Kobe at the front desk and his customer service was superb...he took caring to the next level! And the water park was all day entertainment for my teens as well as us parents! I am definitely going to come back very soon...
