I stayed at Holiday Inn Ottawa East and had a mixed experience. The check-in was smooth and the staff were friendly and professional, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the room itself didn’t meet expectations as it had a persistent bad odour, there was hair in the bathtub, and I even spotted a cockroach. When I raised the issue at checkout, the staff said they couldn’t do anything because I booked through Expedia. That explanation felt dismissive because regardless of how I booked, it’s the hotel that’s ultimately responsible for maintaining standards. I expected better cleanliness and accountability from a well-known chain, and I won’t be returning unless I’m assured these issues are being taken seriously.

I’ve stayed here multiple times & this time our room was obviously not cleaned well. My baby even found doggy bag trash in our room. I was extremely mad about this and all I was offered was a free breakfast.

Left a day early because of medical reasons was promised a refund by the guy working and now that I’m not at the hotel there’s all the sudden nothing no one can do to get the refund. Great size room, very comfy beds. Fridge and quiet hotel. Bathroom is a typical hotel bath/shower and not massive. The breakfast buffet is actually pretty good. High standard of food. Staff were great and I checked in early no problem. All in all it was a good experience.
