Get ready for fun (and expenses!)

GWL is a great place for families. This is very much a family oriented environment. If you are looking for a getaway with your romantic partner or other type of trip without kids - skip this resort. Pros: The property is very clean, has a rustic vibe, and staff was constantly wiping down surfaces, picking things up, etc. Waterpark is great, well thought out and designed, Locker rentals are available for about $15 Canadian. Dining options are good, and expect to pay slightly more than you would at a typical restaurant. Opt to buy a dining package that covers 3 meals during your stay. Cons: This place is LOUD and BUSY. If you have a neurodivergent family member, be prepared for sensory overload. There is constant noise in the lobby, dining area, arcade, bowling alley, mini golf area, and the water park. There are LINES EVERYWHERE for literally everything, and because kids in those lines are deciding on what they want from vast selections, the lines move VERY SLOWLY. Even at 7:30am for coffee there was a line. Guest rooms are clean, but the beds are very springy and the sheets feel like paper - I did not sleep well!. If you think that paying for your room online at reservation time covers everything, you are so wrong. Expect to pay for extras at meals, extra for upgrades on stuffed animals or MagiQuest, and there's tons of other extra opportunities to max out your credit card if you have no backbone to say no to your kid.

Loved that everything was within the resort. Amazing water park, super clean, spacious room. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. The ONLY downside was the wait time at the non buffet food locations.

The place itself was great and I would highly recommend. The only thing I would not recommend is getting the rooms with the bunk beds - there is no air movement in the bunk room and the top bunk was SUPER hot and we had the room set to 66.

A very fun and unique location for all ages. The staff are incredibly patient and kind, ensuring all safety precautions are in place. We enjoyed the dinner buffet, which had an excellent variety of food. Our server was pleasant and accommodating to our needs. However, the hallways were loud at times, as early as 6 am. We will definitely return in the near future!

Great place for the family. Enjoyed the variety of events for the kids like facepainting, dance parties, etc, that gave options outside of the water park. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall great place to visit.

Celebrated our daughter's 3rd birthday. Vibe is amazing. Lots of kids interactive activities outside from the amazing water park. Food tasted good and is priced well. Overall great place to come visit.

I would expect more from this property considering the cost per night. The rooms are extremely outdated, on par with what i would consider a 2.5 star hotel/motel. The water in our room never stayed warm and would flip from hot to cold during showers. Update the showers atleast. Mattresses need to be changed ASAP, super lumpy and soft, almost sinking in. Almost makes you wonder if there are bed bugs. The threatning note on the microwaves for lingering smells. $250 for warming up foods that smell. Well all foods smell!! The microwave at most cost $100 and to charge $250 for cleaning is ridiculous, especially popcorn, which kids love! For a canadian property, do something better for the poutine. It was disgusting. The staff never changed their gloves during food handling. They touched everything like the refrigerator, the oven handles, cupboards etc...while wearing gloves and then handling food right after. Also, handled meat and then didnt change gloves for vegetarian foods. Poor food handling, and safety concern here!!! The waterpark was nice, life gaurds are very attentive. The arcade had many non-working games unfortunately, but was nice still. The food was affordable for the most part on site, but more training needed. A london fog tea is Not made with a lipton tea bag for gods sake. Charging me $5 and not even making it right. Lots of small improvements need to be made here tbh, especially with how much you charge to stay. Do better.
