The room was nice and clean however it was a claustrophobics nightmare. There were no windows at all. Did not know this when I booked or I would have requested a room with windows. I specifically booked here for the cute pool thinking we could cool off a little during the day. Boy was I mistaken. It was so cloudy you could barely make out the dark shadows of all of the leaves that were in the bottom of the pool. When you walked into the pool courtyard, the smell of mildew about, knocked us over. When I brought it to the staff attention, he just laughed and got on his radio and told somebody to go clean the pool. The next day we went in to check the pool and instead of the mildew smell, knocking you over it was the smell of chlorine yet the pool was still very cloudy and still had all the leaves in the bottom.

Great place to stay

Every single person we encountered in the hotel was extremely hospitable. Had a great stay. The only negative was the pool. I was really small, and was cloudy...over chlorinated. Would definitely stay here again. In walking distance of downtown and the French Quarter.

I waited 20 min in the rain waiting on a porter to assist with my luggage while they assisted others that came after i had already checked in. Room was tiny. Little room to walk around the beds to gain acces to the small bathroom.

Very comfortable, nicely decorated and great service. I added the breakfast for the stay and it did not disappoint. Great location too. Parking was an issue. Didn’t want to pay for valet at $53. a day. We parked across the street parking lot and saved a little more. Plus street parking is free on Sundays.

The property was very vintage and felt like a French hotel. Its dated and could use upgrades. Vintage does not mean old and worn. The tabletop on my balcony was chipped away. The view faced other buildings so no excitement there. The rooms were not cleaned thoroughly. We found a wig in the bathroom and a used coffee pod in the coffee maker. The second day a bottle of spic and span was left in the room. I could not tip the maids. There was also a loud whining noise the pipes made after we showered that was annoying. The pool was uninviting as its outside and got rained on daily. The furniture was wet, garbage overflowing and bark covered the stone patio. It looked gross. For our inconvenience , we received drink and breakfast vouchers. The bar tender was friendly and poured a nice drink. The breakfast was very tasty and satisfying. The lobby was cozy. Herb in engineering was superb. Very friendly and helpful. Taj at the front desk was very kind as well. Lastly, the concierge was efficient. He booked our ride back to the airport and held our bags. It was in the business district and walking distance to just about everything. There was an adjacent steakhouse that I did not try. I probably would not stay again mainly because the hotel could use an overhaul and is nit worth the price.

Nicely decorated but a little humid and musty.

The front desk was so friendly and nice. The room was humid and the hallway carpets were dirty. The place was a little musty smelling but nothing terrible. The bathroom fan didn't work so there was a bit of mold growing in the shower. You could control the AC but it didn't pull the humidity out of the air and no way to get fresh air into the room. The bathroom sink was missing the drain cover and you could see the gross inside of the pipe with film on it. I told the front desk and they said it would be fixed but it wasn't while I was there. The front lobby and lounge room was really nice and decorated fancy. The hotel was in a good location for walking to the French quarter.

Nice historic hotel cold pool

This is an older historic hotel but I love that about it. The rooms are small but extremely clean and comfortable except there wasn’t a chair in the room so I had to go and find one the service was incredible and excellent and great hospitality. My only complaint is their selling point is the pool yet It’s not heated and it was the beginning of April so it was freezing cold. It’s super small but that’s OK but it was pointless if they weren’t gonna heat it. Great location.
