Lovely historic hotel right on the threshold of the Garden District with easy access to the green streetcar line

Check in was a breeze, they collected packages on my behalf and also held them for UPS to collect. When it was raining, they offered me complimentary umbrellas. My housekeeper was the sweetest and I loved going back into my room every time she finished. I'm very satisfied with my stay.

Found this to be the perfect New Orleans stay. The St. Charles area is beautiful, and it's away from the French Quarter madness. The service was timely and top-notch here. The roof top bar is iconic. There is excellent food on the room service menu as well.

New Orleans below freezing! Restaurants closed. Streetcars not running. Shops shuttered. The Pontchartrain did its best but couldn't overcome it all! No plumbing? Really? We will probably try it again as the room was lovely, the staff wonderful and the location would be great if things had been more normal. We left the day the plumbing stopped working, a day early, and hope for a small refund or credit!

We were attending a large conference at the Convention Center and found this gem (maybe a 30 min walk through a nice neighborhood). There is a streetcar stop right out front for heading up or down town. Trolley Stop Cafe for a great (and cheap breakfast) is steps away. Do yourself a favor and avoid the "big box" hotels and have an authentic stay in a cool and convenient part of town.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with amazing details, great amenities, and access to a great area of NOLA. We were so impressed with the garden district, we stayed there most of the time as the French Quarter was way more touristy. Great places to eat within walking distance of the Pontchartrain. Loved that there was a streetcar stop directly out the front doors. The room was super clean and felt very stylized and personal. The bathroom was big, roomy, and had a great shower! And the beds were intensely comfortable to boot. My only draw back was the lack of microwave/coffee machine/refrigerator in the rooms, and on top of that the Silver Whistle (open for breakfast) was delicious but way overpriced. Definitely stop by the Hot Tin roof!

Lovely historic small boutique hotel. Quiet neighborhood with trolley access. A bit far from most activities.

Right on St Charles, easy walking distance to tons of fun things. The new rooftop bar is amazing, my room was huge, and the cafe breakfast was spot on!

Loved being in this old historic hotel which is so well maintained. Nice to be right on the streetcar line. Enjoyed special touches like bathrobes in the room and real glasses. A true gem!

A great little romantic stay. We loved the vintage style bar and the unique hotel room furniture.

The hotel is in the Garden District of NOLA, which is much quieter and cleaner than the French Quarter. We could easily take the street car, picks up right in front of the hotel, or an Uber to the French quarter for cheap. Our room was cool, clean, and comfortable. There was also a neat little whole in the wall launder mat/bar down the street for night caps. We were in town for a wedding and the room came equipped with iron, iron table, and a hair dryer; all necessities I forgot. We were happy to stay and would return.

We had a great time at this hotel. The Bayou Bar was a nice way to have a drink and appetizers. We had the best meal of our trip in the Carribean Room--the food was exquisite and the wait staff were superb.

I love this hotel! Stayed for my daughters graduation and then again two weeks later to move her to her new job. The rooms are beautiful. The decor is so lovely and elegant. But not stuffy. Everything is so classic. The shampoos, etc are Le Labo. Such a nice touch. The little cafe downstairs is so good. Had amazing grits, unlike any we had before. They told us they are antebellum grits. YUM! The location is perfect. Close to everything but quiet. Hop on the streetcar easily. This is a definite 5 of 5. I will be staying there again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ponchatrain hotel. The rooms were lovely the location great and the staff was friendly and attentive

We traveled with our 13 year old, he enjoyed it as much as we did! Hotel had a great vintage feeling and it was updated nicely. Comfortable clean and friendly. It's a great escape from large chain hotels and not as independent as a house rental. Great location, street car right out front, short ride to the Quarter, museums, universities and zoo.

Very nice hotel in the beautiful garden district. Comfortable beds. No coffee maker in room. No good public transportation. Street car wait time is hit and miss. Most of the time too full and doesn't stop. Silver whistle excellent. Homade baked goods.

Enjoyed imagining a time in the past. Imagining what people may have past through the doors, laughed and drank at the bar, and enjoyed each other's company in the roof top bar, "Hot Tin." The staff was very nice and really seemed to enjoy being there as well. Seeing people there of all backgrounds, culture, and geographical areas was great and gave a warm feeling that all were welcome.

Everyone at the hotel was so helpful; great customer service! I can't wait to come back to NOLA and stay at the Pontchartrain Hotel.
