To start with, the PEOPLE at the Omni Royal are extraordinary. The hotel itself, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel common areas are undergoing renovations. People should be informed of this before deciding whether to stay there or not. There are tarps and ladders everywhere. The rooms are, frankly, gross. There was dust covering the baseboards in the bathroom as if they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Air vents so dirty that the dirt had fallen down onto the duvet. Lightbulbs out in the bathroom. Electrical outlets are so loose that phones don’t charge. Stains on the carpet so bad I kept my shoes on. The beds are comfortable, but the rooms have an all around damp and moldy feel. The location is good, and the employees wonderful, but this hotel is a hard pass for me.
