Melrose Mansion

Great on the outside but the attention to detail to make you comfortable is really lacking. There are so many great places in the French Quarter and to call themselves 'mansion' implies a better standard than a pretty bathroom, cool modern shower, and lots of pillows with the otherwise aesthetic of a Motel 6 inside the room.

My only criticism here was the sketchy room service. They only made the bed once and only cleaned the jacuzzi twice. Both times they showed up at 5 pm. Nobody refilled our water in the room or gave us new coffee material.

The room was spacious & clean, the bed was comfy and we loved the location...a really nice hot breakfast was included...the only negative was street parking a block away unless you want to pay $38 to use the gated parking lot (which we did)...overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect location!!!! Beatiful place to stay only few blocks walking to the main streets of French Quarter!!! Quiet and peacefull and Esplanade street is gorgeous!!!!!

Great location on the edge of the French Market. My wife and I went for our honeymoon and loved that we could easily walk to the crazier parts of Bourbon street yet were far enough away that it was nice and quiet when we wanted to sleep. Get the Jacuzzi tub if you stay here, it's nice and deep and absolutely worth it.

Beautiful facility, quiet neighborhood location. Short waik to Frenchman's Street music clubs or the French Quarter so no need for a car. Breakfast was only OK as the scrambled eggs are always over cooked (we were there for 4 nights).

Beautiful hotel with a very sweet staff. Everyone we met was very helpful and kind. We drank wine by the pool every afternoon, it was perfect! The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are clean and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved Melrose Mansion. Had some issues in advance obtaining a pack-and-play (if you're traveling with a baby, speak to them in advance about having one brought from another property, or bring your own). But our stay was so wonderful once we arrived, the hassle over that was forgotten. The property is unbelievably attractive; the staff was exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable; the happy hour wine and cheese in the beautiful front room was fun; the pool was lovely--though unheated, but we enjoyed hanging poolside with our wine; and the overall location was terrific. Also, they must have done an amazing job insulating the house during the renovation because we never heard any sounds from other rooms, despite the fact that they were almost fully booked. We definitely plan to stay at Melrose Mansion again on a future trip to New Orleans. Would highly recommend.

This place is beautiful, excellent service and staff, perfect location everything in walking distance, and they serve continental breakfast and wine & cheese daily!!

I thought the staff was very helpful and inviting, especially when providing recommendations nearby. The mansion itself is beautiful, and all of the decor was gorgeous. Next time I'm back in town, I will surely be staying here!

Charming old building with renovated guest rooms, comfortable beds and good service. It was nice to dive into the swimming pool after waking in the hit and they served wine every day at 4pm. Breakfast was OK, croissants, muffins, yogurt, cereal , grapes and orange juce. Coffee was very decent. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

What a great place to stay. Close to the part of Bourbon Street and the parades you want to be at BUT far enough away to actually rest when you need to. It is a pleasure to stay there. The morning refreshments especially the coffee were wonderful. The room was outstanding. It is a converted mansion-no joke there.

The hotel was super-clean, staff excellent and friendly, and helpful. High ceilings, classy mansion vibe! Nice private pool! But....the bed was too close to the door however, a big no-no in my book. Also, the bathroom, although huge and airy, was designed poorly. Moving the towel racks to appropriate places would fix that easily. The breakfast spread could be improved, but it was still a nice touch. I would come back to this hotel anytime. It's quiet, a nice contrast to the insanity of Bourbon Street. haha~

The Melrose is a beautiful facility and very conveniently located to the French Quarter and the Marigny areas. Our room was very clean and pleasant.

Overall a really nice hotel in a great location. We unfortunately got placed in the hallway outside the common area where the Continental Breakfast is served. Unless your a morning person, that part sucked.

This hotel is something we still talk about... even two years later! It's an old mansion renovated with very modern pieces. Absolutely a must stay... seriously! Don't hesitate.

Really nice room. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The marble bathroom was very nice and had a great shower. Great wireless. Only drawback was the bed's mattress which needed replacing and was uncomfortable. Would recommend to others but they need to address that mattress.

From the minute we arrived the mansion was a fantastic choice to stay in the french quarter of new orleans. The staff was friendly and helpful. THe room was gorgeous. It even had a washer/dryer . Great amenities like a pool and breakfast and wine /cheese. I would definitely go back.

My wife and I usually stay at a chain hotel when we go to NOLA but I booked a room at the Melrose Mansion to try something different. We were both pleasantly surprised. Great location on the edge of the French Quarter. Walking distance to the great restaurants and activities there. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms and bathrooms are updated but maintain it's old time appeal. The staff members were great as well.

We loved staying at this old mansion with so much charm! Staff was wonderful and room was spacious and clean. Short walk to Bourbon St or Frenchmen St for amazing food and music.
