Nice property, but did not appreciate the extra daily service fee. Yes, you can use part of it as a credit at the hotel, but using it in the pool area also incurred a service fee.

Alarm woke us up at 3:30am telling us to go downstairs and not to use the elevator for an emergency. Then staff came over the intercom for like 5 minutes saying there was a malfunction or error with their alarm system to disregard. Scared me out of a dead sleep. They charge you some kind of extra fee of $25 a day plus tax that we were not expecting.

We had a great time at the Royal Sonesta this weekend. Had an early administrative issue (thanks a lot Expedia) that was quickly resolved by Ms. Chantel at the front desk, but other than that - everything was perfect! The room was gorgeous and well maintained. The location was perfect, and don’t let the comments scare you from staying on Bourbon street. Sleep is possible lol.

Literally like walking into a magical palace. The decor, ambience, staff, room, view, dining options. We were exhausted every day of the stay but were welcomed to an ice cold room with the SOFTEST bed and pillows we’ve ever slept on. Definitely will be booking again
3rd floor balcony. Perfect for people watching and enjoying a coffee or cocktail

The staff were so welcoming and that’s a plus as a solo traveler. I pleasantly surprised with the location. The walking distance to everything was great ! Caleb was a great doorman full of great energy. Johnson quickly gathered my belongings and secured them while i awaited my room and I went to wander the streets of New Orleans .

First of all, when checking in I was told that they would give me a credit for one of the rooms because they overbooked the type of room I had. (I booked 2 king bourbon street with balcony). After we, my brother and I, said no to the credit and that just like they were about to bump us, they could bump someone that hasn't checked in yet; they conveniently had a room. I also requested to have our rooms beside each other but they said they don't do that. Second, we check into our rooms and instantly wasn't happy because our balcony compared to my brother's was totally different. So my husband goes to speak to the front desk and at first they were going to try to do change us to another floor and then said they couldn't do it because people were checking into them, but just like you tried to bump us and did bump someone else to accommodate my brother, you could have did it again. But they said no, even after I went down and almost begged because it was my birthday on January 1st, but gave me a cupcake.
