Property was the very best possible location. Everything was just a minutes walk away, but tucked just at the end of the French quarter and a block away from Frenchman’s street, we were not disrupted by noise at night, and slept well. Loved the hot tub and pool and character. This is not a modern hotel. There is no elevator. The stairs are old. The ceilings are a bazillion feet tall. If you want modern, stay at one of the chain hotels that all look the same. If you want character, stay here!
It was steps away from Frenchman Street but we never heard any noise! I really don't understand but appreciated. It's across the street from the FQ. Awesome! Staff was friendly and helpful We got put in the building behind and across the street from the mansion. It was pretty small and windowless (402 - don't do it). If you have heavy bags, leave them downstairs as the check-in is upstairs and there's strong chance you'll have to carry them all the way some wavy and unsteady steps, only to carry them back down again when they give you a room if it's on the first floor.
Second time at this hotel. Pleasant staff clean and for me a perfect distance from everything
The courtyard was pretty. Our room too small and no chairs.
Had another great experience here. Its an old New Orleans building so if you're looking for a modern hotel experience know that this is more of an historic New Orleans experience.
Quiet
I don't usually post reviews but I have to say that my check-in experience at this place had to be one of the most frustrating of my life. The staff was borderline incompetent and was unable to prepare a key card, know where my room was located on the property and couldn't even remember my room number after I repeated it back to her multiple times. I think she was either high or drunk, or both. What should have been an easy checking (5-10 minutes) took an hour. Needless to say, I won't be staying at this place again, which is too bad because its a convenient location. Its just too frustrating dealing with the staff.
Great property, quiet but still close to all the action.
Liked: Fantastic old buildings, lots of character and charm! Location can't be beat. Staff super nice and helpful, especially Yari! Not so great: No housekeeping service, Covid is no longer a good excuse not to provide. Rooms vary greatly in size but are priced the same, one of the rooms in our group was teeny tiny and another palatial. That is understandable given the age of the facility but the price should be lower for smaller rooms.
Beautiful courtyard; large clean room; comfortable bed
Great experience! Very clean & quaint! The staff was super friendly!
We stayed in the back house across the street and it was perfect. Even though it's so close to Frenchmen Street, it was still extremely quiet. We would definitely stay here again!
Good location. Beautiful architecture in my room not in my friends rooms. No refrigerator in my room and mattress was lumpy.
Have stayed here before and would gladly stay there again.
This house caught my eye when booking our trip for our anniversary. It is an old house in the French Quarter and it was in the heart of New Orleans, but far enough away where it was peaceful as well. I would highly recommend if you want some place that is not loud. The staff was wonderful. Everything was great.

We are sorry for your poor experience. We will be looking into which employee checked you in and following up by going through a retraining, as well as reminding them of our zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
