Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The staff was not friendly. The hotel stinks like smoke and like it has never been cleaned. All just very dirty and not what I expected from Hilton. I will not be staying with Hilton ever again.

Good location, walking distance to many activities.

I don’t need to the restaurant the hostess which I complained about is very homophobic and prejudice

Parking charges should be listed up front. $44 a night was a shock to our budget. Add complimentary breakfast might help.

Good, the staffs could have been more polite though.

Not worth the priice. If your objective is to visit New Orleans as turist, the location is not ideal. You need to walk too much get a cap for all purposes. The hotel was not clean. Dirty towels, dirty bathroom, ...

Cleaning service came once if 5 says. $40 a day for parking my car.

Not your typical Hilton Garden Inn. Probably was a Days Inn and they have spruced up the lobby and the outside, but the rooms need major reno. Had to switch my room twice. The first room the young man checked me into was not cleaned up and still had a smell from whoever was last there. The carpet was indoor outdoor carpet that needed to go. The hallway carpet is very unpleasant as well. Nice location, but if you can afford to pay 50 more a nite I'd say it would be worth it. Plus its not near anything except the convention center and the outlet, which doesn't have a lot of shores. Management should really upgrade all carpets in the hallway. It just looks like this hotel went thru several different owners and no one is really willing to make it look up to the standards of a Hilton Garden Inn.

The hotel was adequate but not what I expected from a Hilton property. The hotel is in need of good cleaning at a minimum. Some of the staff were friendly and professional but others seemed annoyed to even have to check me in upon arrival to the hotel. The hotel met the bare minimum of a hotel to stay at on vacation but did not go above or beyond to make the experience memorable for my first visit to New Orleans. It is within walking distance to restaurants and the French Quarter is also within walking distance. Uber is also very available and quick to get to hotel.

A great time and nice accommodations ! Didn’t like elevator getting stuck but other than that real nice stay

Good location. Pretty much walkable to all the attractions and excitment. Resturants nearby. Quiet location with nice big comfy rooms.

The room temperature was perfect. I like the mini-fridge in the room. We liked to sleep in so the 8:30 knock on the door by the housekeeper was tough. However, you could always put 'Do not disturb" sign on your door. We just never remember to do so. Check-in was really fast and the staffs were all very friendly.

My first night, I called for housekeeping to bring some shampoo and lotion, as they didn't refill it before I checked in the room. They never came. I was told that there's no shuttle to the airport. But that was a lie. I spent $36 unnecessarily. Room furniture was filthy.

Lovely stall. Inviting lobby. Special shout out to clerk Jasmine, Lynnette and all pool personal, lastly Jason fro, kitchen. Awesome housekeeper.

From arrival to departure my contact with the front desk staff was subpar. The tone was often argumentative, condescending, and discourteous. By contrast, I found the general service staff to be courteous. I arrived to be told that since I used a third party website, I would not be recognized by Hilton Honors. I mentioned that I liked the convenience of booking air, lodging and car together. I also commented that the daily rate was $20 per day less than the Hilton website. The response was a flippent well you saved a few bucks so don't expect the points. I had the option to chose a competitor, but selected Hilton. I regret that choice. My keys did not work on the door. Since no one answered the main line, I walked the distance to find the house phone.I was told I could pick up a new key card. I mentioned that I was tired from my travels and would prefer if someone to bring a replacement. They heavily sighed and stated that he would see what he could do. No apology offered. The person who came appeared to be a maintenance person who was very courteous and pleasant. I few days later, I inquired about room availability and rate for extending my stay. I was told my room was rented and I would need to move at least twice for a 5 day extension. He commented that "the first words out of your mouth" were whether I could get the same rate. I corrected him that I only inquired whether there is availability and the rate. He said "whatever." I am now happy at a competing property.

My mother is a little older and can't walk far distances so the closeness of the hotel to restaurants and the convention center was great!

No internet connection in the room. This was unbelievable and was driving me crazy. The worst case when you are on a business visit. Dirty dishes and silverware at breakfast, untidy and always something missing so that you always have to keep asking. Will never stay in this place again.

Clean-Comfortable-peaceful staff was accommodating tv issue, staff came to fix within 5 minutes staff came immediately to help with directions for kheurig

Entire staff was professional and even had a sense of humor. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Jason, the waiter in the breakfast section. He did an outstanding job and it was my pleasure to have him as my waiter. Overall rating to all was outstanding.

Area around hotel not well lit at night and unsafe. Do not walk around with a conference badge on alone ladies; I heard there have been some vandals in the area lately. room smells old and musty; old hotel
