Mattress was very uncomfortable

We went to get away for our 50th wedding anniversary and found everything to be nice except the mattresses. They were very uncomfortable. Had a very big dip in the middle both of the beds. I had to sleep sideways for my back to not hurt. I would stay again but make sure we had a different bed.

While the property was located in a good location, the cleanliness of the property needs to be improved. When they say pet friendly I didnt realize they were providing the pets. Came into room and had a roach on the bed. Told the front desk and they said that exterminator was coming soon.

Stay somewhere else on the OBX

I was thoroughly disappointed with my week-long stay. For the $1,700 I spent, I expected far better. Instead, I dealt with a broken elevator the entire time, creating congestion and long waits at every floor. The lobby reeked of a wet dog smell that hit you immediately upon entry, which set a poor tone from the start. Mornings were anything but restful thanks to the cleaning crew shouting back and forth down the hallways. To top it off, I found a bug in my bed (thankfully not a bed bug, but unacceptable all the same). The outlets in the room were also loose, making it difficult and unsafe to charge devices — another clear sign of poor maintenance. While the registration staff and breakfast were pleasant, they were the only positives. The rest of the property looked neglected. At the pool, I noticed the balconies across the way with cracked foundations and obvious structural deterioration. My room’s windows were so filthy you could barely see out, and not from saltwater residue — just lack of upkeep. Overall, this hotel is nowhere near worth the $1,700 price tag. Between the broken facilities, poor cleanliness, safety hazards, and general state of disrepair, this stay was a major disappointment. Do yourself a favor — spend your money elsewhere.

Super convenient for our fishing trip however the property has fallen on some rough times. I’ve stayed there maybe 6-7 times in past 20 years and feel now maintenance has been deferred for far too long. The door looked as though it had been opened with a crowbar, light switch in bathroom threw sparks, shower control fixture falling off wall, drains slow draining, rust. Pool needs serious professional maintenance help. Reinvest in your property or it will be gone before you know. Breakfast was mostly inedible. Owners and managers, you folks know you are serving up a substandard product as a hotel. Line level employees were fine, trying hard to deal with conditions. I’ll look elsewhere close by when I come back next month. My advice—avoid this hotel for now. Better options abound. I hope ownership will take this review as a call to action.

Let down and disappointed

My family and I have been coming here for many years as an annual trip to the outer Banks. Unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience this time. Last several times we have stayed only one elevator shaft has functioned. The elevator is very slow. Upon check-in I was asked if I would like them to clean my room daily. I stated yes however they did not clean my room for the entirety of my stay. Upon booking the room I chose an oceanfront room with two queen sized beds, unfortunately I did not get an oceanfront room. In the beds were two double beds. But being exhausted from sitting in traffic for about 5 and 1/2 hours I did not complain and I was just happy to get a bed. We had one unexpected visitor in the room, a cockroach. Staff is very friendly and inviting. However the facility itself needs some major changes.

The room was nice however the balcony in need of paint and nicer chairs. The location is off the charts amazing, which made the poor maintenance of the property and grounds so sad. Staff was very standoffish. Lobby was overly perfumed and air freshened… which made us wonder why? Wont stay here again unless they do a renovation. It was pretty seedy.
