Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

After years of visiting the Pawley's Island/Myrtle Beach area, we decided to check out Litchfield. While we'd stopped in to grab Starbucks many times - we'd only seen the front desk and reception area which are impressive - as well as the manicured grounds and water features. But, if you look a little closer, you begin to see the cracked paint, exposed molding, trash and junk piled up in the breezeways and the moldy vomit in the stairway! The rooms were clean(ish) - the towels and sheets seemed clean, but the carpet was worn out and there was an inch of dust on the ceiling fan. Be forewarned! the maid service only replaces the towels and takes out the trash if you stay a couple of nights or more - no bed service! The restaurant was OK - but needs more choices and a little better service. The "TV" was nothing more than a small computer monitor. Don't expect much in that regard. The shuttle to the beach was nice - the private beach was very well kept and not as crowded as public beaches. Overall, passable, but the "resort' is a stretch... more like a couple of hotel buildings with a center clubhouse.

loved the hotel, one of the best I've stayed..would def go back

Very small room and not the cleanest. Very disappointed

The facilities were perfect for us. Although the room was a little outdated, it had everything we needed.

It was a beautiful resort with wonderful staff. The beach was gorgeous.

My daughter's foot was sliced open by bottom of indoor pool. Bathroom in room was not clean. Mattress was terrible. Resort looks nice but doesn't live up to looks.

Rather old motel .....small bathroom with an awkward room arrangement. Not up to the Litchfield standards.

Our room was small, but well equipped. These are more like an apartment than a hotel room; they have a small kitchen. The view was great and access to the beach was simple. We'll stay there again.

Some of the front desk personnel were unable to answer questions about the area (Alice's gravesite in All Saints) but others were most helpful in suggesting good neighborhood restaurants (Quigley's). The beach transport driver (Debbie) was very engaging, informative and helpful on the short ride in the golf cart to the beach! My family enjoyed the free movies during tropical storm "Hermine" with a good selection of drama, comedy and family movies. The pool area was usually clean although the "hot tubs" were not operational at all times. Webster's restaurant had a good wait staff and nice selection of food on the breakfast buffet. It is a great location on a main street although a confusing parking lot until you drive in/out a few times.

Did not expect to have an extra fee for the health facilities (gym, indoor pool) but they are pretty well maintained, I guess not every one use them that's why they charge separately. Overall great deal for the $$. You need to take a small golf cart shuttle to the beach, but you get there fast.

Checkin was seem less and easy. Was presently surprised when I entered my room. It's more like an apt then a hotel room. Room had all the amenities I needed. Property was quiet and well kept. Easy access to beach. Good onsite breakfast option for $11. I will get to go back hopefully.

We stayed in Summerhouse for a short vacation. Check-in was easy and our room was very easy to find and get to. We love the close parking and ease to getting around Litchfield Beach.

Nice place with private beach, Great for families with kids.

We had been staying in Myrtle and was having a horrible vacation because of the facilities we were at. I called Litchfield and they were able to accommodate the rest of our vacation. The staff was wonderful, informative, and made you feel at home. The resort itself was very relaxing, from the room with wonderful lighting, GREAT shower, hammocks, very courteous shuttle service to the beach, clean beach, nice, updated and clean pools. We felt safe. We felt that we could relax and not have to worry as much about the safety of our children. We will be back!!!

Housekeeping policy is weak. Large rips I screens. Buildings need upkeep on the outside. Bathroom towels etc were terrible.

We loved our room. The pool & lazy river were awesome!! It was so relaxing & not crowded at all! Perfect place to go for vacation:)

This is a great place for the price. I do think the place needs some TLC though. Things are starting to look worn.

We have stayed at this hotel for 25 years. This year they implemented new rules that there is no daily maid service and we had to wash and dry our own washcloths and towels as well as take out our own trash. I didn't go to a resort for a vacation to have to do laundry. They do offer free movie (DVD) rental.

Room was clean, quiet. Bed was comfortable. Carpet and bedding could use update.

Ideal, inexpensive get away with excellent facilities. Webster's restaurant with happy hour and awesome buffet breakfast is a worth while on site plus. My room was comfortable , however the one bed room condo with screened in porch is more spacious and my future choice.
