Phone did not work for the entire duration of our stay. Pool area loaded with birds so be ready for noise and poop. The food was mediocre, at best, although the restaurant is supposedly not attached to the hotel. The free cocktail per day is a nice touch.Tiny room, be ready for a wet bathroom upon showering as the 'wall' doesn't fully prevent water for staying in the shower area...shower head however, nice and water pressure also nice. 1 block from the beach. Although RED does offer beach chairs to guests, actual chair , not lounge chairs, but ones to sit on. We paid for chairs and umbrellas offered by surrounding hotels..expensive but I would rather lay out on the beach than sit upright. Probably would not stay there agin. It was ok for the 4 days but we ready to be outta there.
I'm an economical shopper so I was not looking to spend a fortune. I reserved a double room poolside and got a small room on 6th floor with one bed. That really was my only complaint. I just like getting what I reserve. The hotel was clean and the staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the food and drinks. It was our anniversary so I didn't want to start it off complaining about the room so I just didn't mention it. I'm sure they would have corrected as they did give us a complimentary bottle of champagne :)
The hotel ballet gave my keys to the wrong person without receiving any ticket .that person took off with my car .worst experience ever
The hotel has a nice décor with the red and white, i'm just used to new facilities. The room was probably the smallest room I've ever stayed in, but it did serve it's purpose (to rest and have a place to shower).
It's better to pay more than to stay at this hotel staff members are rude and slow.
beautifll with a red color mostly eveything including the wake up clock, very kindly and they were wonderfull my wife and my son love the place, easy access to all place
The hotel was very trendy and the service at the front desk was awesome. Our room and the pool area was clean and the bar staff was great! We were one block from the beach and the food and shopping in the area was fantastic! We used Uber and Lyft for transportation and saved over half than if we'd have used a cab.
Went shopping the room smell like smoke no one came to check . was dissatisfied with size of room. tHe bar staff was very nice
The hotel is located in a somewhat dead zone area of Collins Avenue - 30th and Collins. A bit too far away to walk to Sobe as well as North Beach. Not too many dining options closely (Subway is 2 blocks away). If you are looking for a good comfortable hotel with limited amenities, this would be a good choice. I was here during Art Basel and if your room faces Collins Avenue, it will be noisy from foot and vehicle traffic as well as parties until early morning. Staff are efficient, but do not go out of their way to help. An example is that I had two pieces of luggage and 2 bags and was offered no help when I checked in and out. The restaurant is o.k, but a bit overpriced. The free daily drink and happy hour for guests at the bar from 5-7 pm daily is a nice perk. The premium charged for this hotel due to Art Basel week as well as the daily amenity charge of $12.00/day is a bit annoying. Wifi at peak times is too slow, especially if you are in the upper floors.
The room seems to have no fresh air. It was so stuffy and I ended getting so sick . The room rugs need to be taken out or need some serious shampooing.
Service was ok, valet parking was terrible and the hotel was just ok
The room was more like a walk in closet. But it was clean and quite which I appreciated.
Me and my husband stay at the hotel was great. The weekend we spent down in south beach was spoiled due to the rain. We went to local and further out restaurants and loved all the foods. Overall 1 thing I will never do is rent the skooters down there again worst when it rains. The skooter I rented dropped due to high winds and heavy rains and was cracked and the owner did not give me my deposit back due to a contract they rush you to sign. I will visit here again in the future.
Me and my wife was in Miami for carnival, and my cousin was getting married. We always have a great time in Miami. This was our second time staying at the Red and it was enjoyable. Only thing the back streets behind the hotel got flooded from high tide had a hard time getting to my rental.
i stayed here from 10/10-10/12 for my dirty 30 birthday weekend. i got here early way before check-in time just to see if there were any rooms available. i originally had booked a double bed room & upon arrival i was helped by Zenaida who told me that unfortunately those rooms were not available at the moment for check in. Take note, it was also Miami Carnival weekend & every hotel was pretty much booked up. Zenaida did happen to tell me tho that a King Suite was available but there was a $50 upgrade fee. I told her that it was my 30th bday & i have never been to this side of the country...with that being said, she HOOKED ya girl up! I absolutely love her! great hospitality, great customer service! this hotel is really cute & definitely something I'd expect of Miami. Zenaida & Red South Beach hotel definitely made my bday weekend a great one! FYI: the hotel is literally a block away from the beach..very convenient!
Unbelievable location,sexy decor and friendly service. The food was excellent and the room service was super fast. This hotel has the least expensive valet I've ever used on South Beach, but it fills up quickly. This hotel is located across from the Palms ( 3x the price) and a 2min walk to the nicest part of the beach. I would recommend it for couples. Leave the kids at home.
menu was expensive for the amount of food served. All and all i would rate it 3 1/2 to 4 out of 5 stars. The management and front desk workers were on point besides the one that was stealing and the cops showed up. Need to screen the people who enter (work) the rooms better for their jobs. :)
Mold in bathroom, bathroom sink and tub clog. Everything was nasty even the bed sheets were dirty.
We spent our last night at RED after more than a week in South Florida. I had attended a work convention in South Beach for a few nights at a different hotel and then we drove down to the Florida Keys and spent three nights in Key West and two nights at Duck Key. We chose RED because of price and location. We visit Miami regularly and needed a place to spend the night and enjoy South Beach (which I wasn't able to do while at a work conference) and to fly our early from Miami the next morning. Wow. I wished we could have spent more time here since it became a place to crash. We checked in late after dinner and checked out by 9 am. The hotel itself is cool and funky, mostly decorated in white with splashed of red. The check-in was smooth and friendly, the room was clean, roomy and great with a poolside view and my wife woke early the next morning to catch sunrise from the beach a quick walk away. When we checked in late, we were told there was no parking for our rental car, there was a big convention in town. Thank goodness I found a free space in the residential area about five blocks away and had dropped off my wife and daughter with our luggage. Wish we had spent more time here. We booked the same hotel for our next visit in January 2016 for our last night in town after the Florida Keys again.
We had a great time. It's clean and beautiful. The pool was under construction when we were there, but we could tell it was a nice area.
