We were in London for one night for a wedding. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Arriving at 2pm we easily found parking in the above ground lot (hadn't expected to pay for parking let along $15 for one night, but it was fine and convenient). The front desk staff are excellent, they helped us find a nice pub for lunch around the corner where we ran into some close friends. The suite was a really good size for what we found a very reasonable price. We are a family of 3 (parents and teen), we found the layout perfect. However be aware if you need more privacy that one of the "rooms" is open concept so not perfect for two couples for example. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom had lots of counter space. Nice big closet as well with lots of hangers. The kitchen is really nicely finished and has a full sized fridge, while we were only there for a short stay this would be fantastic if you are there longer. There is a convenient variety store right next door that has some pretty decent staples, and the hotel has a stash of nibbles at decent prices if you get the munchies. Didn't make it down for the included breakfast but heard from family that it was unexpectedly good, full hot breakfast with lots of choices not just a plate of stale danishes and muffins. We would absolutely stay here again.
A great sunrise view from the 12th floor. A quiet restful stay in a clean room with a hot breakfast included . This hotel would do Marriott proud if not for the dated couch. The sense of style is from the 1990s ! Or is this part of some retro tourist tour look?
Extremely disappointed with this hotel. Parking situation is very poor as mentioned in other reviews, and the woman at the front desk was very rude and unwelcoming from the moment I arrived. She then put me in a wheelchair accessible room and didn't bother telling me. I got up to my room and discovered that I didn't have a bathtub (i.e., nothing separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom). I call down to the front desk to ask for another room. Three times. The phone rings, and rings, and rings, and no one answers. I go down to the front desk less than a minute after the last call (my room was on the second floor). Of course, the same lady who checked me in is sitting in the back room reading a book (it's 9:30 p.m. - not exactly the wee hours of the morning). Why she didn't care to answer my calls, I'll never know, but I have my suspicions. In any event, I give her my complaint, and all I get is "we're sold out". No explanation of how I end up in a room without a bathtub, no sorry, no sympathy. I left the hotel that night and am never going back. Extremely disappointed with the quality and service of this hotel. Never staying there again.
To begin, let me say the staff were all very nice and helpful. Top notch, so many thanks for that. The building, however, is old, decrepit, and in dire need of a renovation. The elevators are slow and undependable. The rooms have potential, but the furnishings are old and uncomfortable. Speaking of uncomfortable, the bed was so hard that sleep was nearly impossible. Additionally there was a deep depression in the mattress so that you could only lie in it in one spot and on your back. The hide a bed mattress was appallingly bad, and my daughter managed only a few hours of sleep on it. The Marriott hotel chain, I thought, has minimum standards. This particular establishment failed to meet my expectations of that hotel chain. Very disappointing, and I will be advising anyone I know planning on visiting London to avoid this hotel.
Having essentially a small apartment with a full kitchen and living room is a key if you are travelling with the family for a number of nights. The Residence Inn staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is an older building so don't expect modern furnishings and decor. We enjoyed our stay and had very good sleeps.
This place was a fantastic experience. The room was large and fully functional as a very modern studio apartment. The décor was top notch and very comfortable. Great bed and everything you need for a short or long stay. The location is downtown and easy to get around. Breakfast is included and was just what I wanted before going out to visit London. The staff are very friendly and informative. I highly recommend this place to stay for any event downtown.
We were on our way back from Chicago where we stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Wilmette. That was such a beautiful hotel that we had expectations of the same quality at this Residence Inn in London. Unfortunately, we did not find the hotel pleasing nor the area the hotel is in very nice. Although Carly at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant, she ended up giving us 3 different rooms as the first two that she gave us were near party rooms and were noisy (well it was a Saturday night!). The room was ok and clean and the bed comfortable but the whole decor of the room and hotel generally needs an upgrade.
Terrible and Disgusting hotel. The staff is rude and incompetent! No customer service skills! They have weird rules like banning any visitor of visiting you after 11:00 PM even though you can meet them in at the entrance! It is like a prison and not worthy to book this hotel! The hotel staff forgets they are a hotel and people book the hotel to stay there during the visit of the city and the family.
First of all, let me admit that I am a fan of Residence Inn. They provide comfortable, stylish accommodation and allow a bit of room to spread out or to work. We only stayed one night at the hotel on a mini road trip. The hotel is at the edge of downtown and while there is parking, the surface lot is small and the garage can be tricky. Parking costs $15. Our one bedroom unit was on the 11th floor and was spacious and bright. The living room was especially large and had a bank of windows and another view out over the forest city -- very nice and green. The entire effect was of being in an airy apartment. The bedroom did not have any room to spare, but was very quiet and comfortable. A galley kitchen and a small bathroom were also part of the unit. Lighting was plentiful and there were lots of outlets for charging -- both of which are important to me. Breakfast the next day was the usua, and was adequate with many options. Since it is free, I always think of this as a perk. Coffee was not good, but we simply made our own in the unit. I would certainly stay here again.
We checked in and liked the location for London Pride. It is right downtown and a short walk to Victoria park. My partner is Platinum and we asked about our guaranteed 4pm checkout. The manager told us to call in the morning and we might get this based on availability. The manager even got Marriott frustrated when he customer service called him to remind him of the platinum policy! The room was very nice but there was no ice. I found the ice machine in the gym but it costs $2 to use. (picture attached) Never in my lifetime of travel have I had to pay for ice! I paid the $2 and got a small amount of ice. The manager and hotel policies put a downer on London Pride. 😞
