The location on the Marsh in Hilton Head was peaceful. Fireworks were right in front of the resort, which was nice. Master bedroom is big, but the 2nd bedroom and bathroom was very small. Free shuttles to the beach were helpful, but I would not go back to this resort.
The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. loved the gazebo and the serenity pool. had a lot of fun activities for children and families. a very short walk to the marina and boutiques. nice size kitchen, living room. The smaller of the two bedrooms was small and very little room to move around in bedroom. There was no space or room to set down anything on the dresser or night stand as they had lamps, clock and tv. The smaller bedroom window looked out to the walkway between rooms. It was quite a trek to the ocean. the hotel is on the harbor . enjoyed the family activites and pool.
Will start off by saying this was a last minute long weekend reservation. I did not want to deal with crowds at the Marriott beachfront hotel. I knew that the majority of this vacation club guests would be weekly vacationers/owners. I expected a so-so unit. I was very disappointed in the unit's condition. Unit 6201 was surface clean. It is in desperate need of new grout and caulk everywhere. The unit has seen better days. I would not recommend Sunset Building unit 6201. It had a very limited view of Broad Creek. I think the Osprey Building would be best bet as far as location within the resort and water views. The 2 pools were clean and had plenty of chaises with a sunshade option. This is a nice, quiet resort with easy access to Shelter Cove shopping, restaurants and activities. You would want to ride a bike or take the shuttle to the beach if carrying any beach gear. We will return to Marriott's Barony Beach for future visits. We have stayed there before. It is worth the extra money to ensure updated more spacious accommodations, easy beach access and plenty of activities for children.
We stayed at the Marriott's Harbour Point and Sunset Pointe at Shelter Cove in early June. This is a nice, family friendly Marriott property on the bay side of Hilton Head. Check in was excellent- we were given information on the property amenities as well as the activities on site for the week. We were also told about nearby activities and how to access the beach using the free HH shuttle service. We stayed in a 2BR/2Ba unit overlooking the smaller of 2 pools and the bay. Very peaceful. Unit is clean and has a fully stocked kitchen. Unfortunately, there is not a pantry in the kitchen and limited cabinet space for storing groceries. There is no separation between the master BR and bath, and a large whirlpool tub located in the master bath. The second bath is small but fine for a guest bath. The property has several grills (never a wait), 2 pools, hot tubs, a fire pit, tennis courts, corn hole, and shuffleboard. There are lots of marine birds to see since you look out on to the bay. Location is great if you're ok not being on the beach. Overall, great property, just needs a bit of updating.
We recently spent one night here. We had a 2 bedroom unit that is quite smaller than the MVC properties that we are used to. The other bedroom has 2 twin beds but both were comfortable. We used the pull out couch and it was surprisingly pretty comfy and large. The space is smaller also but well laid out. The bathrooms are quite small, the master being way smaller than most of the other MVC second bathrooms but having 2 bathrooms is always nice. The property is well cared for and the staff was very nice. The main pool overlooks the marsh, which is a pretty view. The kitchen was nice and updated and a nice size. We enjoyed our stay here.
Very clean property, helpful staff. Some reviews complain about the condition of the property being tired or worn, we saw no worthwhile evidence of such. Perhaps this property has been recently renovated. Granted a few doors and baseboard looked a little worn but the paint was fresh. Regardless, if sand and sea aren't your preference on Hilton Head this is a very nice place to stay within walking distance of all that Shelter Cove has to offer. We'll probably be back. Quiet and relaxing.
Visiting Again June 2017!!! We Have A Time Share At Shelter Cove. Been Going For Many Years. Marriott Is Always Up Dating An Making Sure The Property Is Always Grade A!!!! Have Yet To Experience A Problem!!! Weather Has Occasionally Be An Issue. If It Was Controllable Marriott Would Do It!!! Shelter Cove Is Super!!!!
A few days before a planned trip to Orlando I noticed that a couple of days had come available at this resort. My wife and I decided to see what this resort was like. We looked at the reviews and were not sure since they are mixed. This resort unlike most Marriott Timeshare's nowadays is still weeks based, not points. Since we had booked late and were checking in on a Wednesday we did not expect to get a good view. In fact we got a first floor with pretty much no view at all. When we looked at the unit it was good size... especially since it was only my wife and I. The unit was clean and well stocked, all the equipment worked well. There is a nice size main pool and another smaller serenity pool. The fitness area is small, two treadmills, two elliptical machines and two exercise bikes and a few dumbbells. The main draws are the views over the cove and the sunrise and sunsets. We are so impressed that we have made the decision to come back here again, hopefully the next time we'll get a better view, especially with making the reservation longer than 2 days out.
Disappointing visit. Long term Owner given small and dark apartment with no view. Sitting on balcony waste of time. No induction or advice on nearby facilities No housekeeping during visit - not advised beforehand!!! Would not recommend
We loved this property! We are Marriott timeshare owners, so we have been to a number of properties, both in Europe and Stateside. This is a smaller property, so understand that this is a quieter and a more relaxed atmosphere than the high rise Marriotts some might be used to within the brand. We loved the twin beds in the second bedroom, as our kids enjoyed having their own bed. The pull out in the main living area has a memory foam mattress and is great for movie nights. Falling asleep on the couch never felt so nice. We enjoyed the various activities, Mimosas by the pool (fresh OJ for the kids), painting a starfish, chess by the marsh, and s'mores almost every night at the fire pit. Turn the fans on at Sunset Pointe to keep the mosquitoes at Bay. Loved this place and we will return! The staff were beyond amazing!
