We stayed in the Osprey building, which had a daily view of dolphins and an abundance of shore birds. The staff were especially helpful and cordial. We enjoyed several of the activities they organized on site, in addition to many excursions around the island. There is so much to do in the shelter cove area and we could walk or bike to lots! The cool weather didn't put a damper on our week with so many options. .
This is the second time we have stayed at this location and we will be happy to return. The staff are very friendly and we appreciated the personal phone call from the front desk manager before our arrival. The woman, who welcomes you after you check in, gives you the lay of the land, and sets you up with coupons, etc., was lovely. The only drawback was that they were refinishing the deck around the pool. We do realize there is a never a good time to do renovations and we were fore warned but it seemed to be taking forever. I certainly would not hire that company to do a deck for me. However, it does look like it will be very nice when it is all finished.
We selected this property through a Getaway. Our previous plans for our 20th anniversary celebration was canceled due to the hurricane damage on an island we had honeymooned on 20 years ago. We have been to Hilton Head before and enjoyed our previous stay so we planned our alternative trip here. When we arrived, our room was ready which we are truly grateful for since we had to get up at 2:00 a.m. to catch a flight to Charlotte and connect to Savannah. After we arrive in the area, dragging our feet, eating lunch, and shopping a bit on Bay Street in Savannah, we headed out to Hilton Head. We were thrilled not only that our room was ready, but also that they had a beautiful bottle of red wine waiting for us for our anniversary and my husband's birthday. Our villa was on the third floor with the most amazing views. We felt blessed and lucky. The place is meticulous. The towels are so thick and internet speed amazing. The kitchen had everything you may need. We don't cook much on our trips but we do like to lounge in the morning so I usually make breakfast. Continental or otherwise. Plus, it's nice to have the refrigerator to have ice, and store our snacks of cheese and grapes, OJ, beverages, etc. The people at the front desk are such a warm and welcoming team. They even called during the week and left a message to make sure there wasn't anything further they could do for us. We rented bikes at only $10/Day. There is access to so many bicycle trails that your biggest decision was which one to take. The bike rental team member was at another property when we showed up to rent and after the front desk contacted him, he came to help us within minutes shortly after we sat down on the comfortable rockers out front. There are no restaurants on site but truthfully with Harbor Town so close and a little café across the street, you really don't need one on site. Everything is so convenient. Plus, Hilton Head has hundreds of restaurants. We walked a lot and rode our bikes. The grocery stores are a short drive away. We truthfully hated to leave and were disappointed that our flight going back home was before the crack of dawn and we couldn't enjoy some last hours in this lovely villa. Oh, and all the televisions are LARGE. My husband was more than thrilled that they have the tennis channel. I honestly cannot say anything negative for this wonderful, memory filled trip.
We had stayed on several of the Marriott Vacation Club Villas on the Island, but not this one. Very pleasantly surprised at how nice this was. Quiet and walking distance to Shelter Cove and Marina. Staff is hardworking and pleasant trying to accommodate everyones needs and provide a variety of activities that are really fun.
As a Marriott platinum for life family and Vacation Club members I can say that this has been our worst Marriott experience. We have been here for 3 weeks. It began when we entered our room which reeked of mildew and found a fan running on the carpet futilely attempting to expunge the odor unsuccessfully. We changed rooms. We made our reservations a year in advance but we were advised shortly before we arrived that there would be some “minor”construction work while we were here. From what I can tell, my wife and I are the only guests in our building. Everyone else is a construction worker running heavy equipment 12 hours a day. This is disgraceful. Yes, this place is rundown and certainly needs to be upgraded but I did not anticipate needing a hard hat to maneuver around the resort during the day. Marriott Vacation Club needs to treat their customers with some respect. Shame on you.
The location is accessible to tons of shopping, restaurants, beaches, and attractions. Our room was nice and overlooked the gorgeous, heated outdoor pool. The staff was friendly and had several activities planned each day. Unfortunately, most activities were cancelled and my husband and I were unable to venture out very much because of a winter storm that decided to dump snow and ice and pretty much shut the city down. Despite being stuck in, it was a very pleasant stay. We would definitely love to go back during better weather conditions and enjoy the full experience.
We had a nice view, suite 6403. We loved the property. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you Josselyn for organizing early check in and all other activities in a very nice resort. We found the facilities to be very clean. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay within walking distance to all outside activities that Shelter Cove has to offer.
We were there for a week. First a word to the wise - the WIFI dropped off about every half hour. If you are on any type of data plan your phone/device will switch over to data from WIFI costing you mucho dollars until you sign back in. A bit of a pain. The furniture is old and uncomfortable. The place needs painted & the color choices appear to be random. That said - room layout was fantastic, rooms were clean, service when requested showed up within 10 minutes of a call. Facility is well run & I would recommend it if you need to go to Hilton Head.
Our family of 6 stayed here on Sunday, December 10 - Thursday, December 14, 2017. We checked in on Sunday evening. Our check in hostess was Josslyn. She greeted us very pleasantly and gave us the layout of the land. We received a map, activities calendar, room keys and our parking pass to be placed on our dashboard. The units are a bit old, however ours was pretty nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a king, 2 twins and a sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress. The unit came with a full kitchen, dishes, dishwasher, stackable washer/dryer, laundry detergent, and dish washer powder. There is a balcony with several chairs and I love that the sliding glass door has a latch on it for safety. There are plenty of activities, hot dogs and mainly free of charge. We enjoyed an ice cream social, s'mores by the fire pit, and hot dogs and brats. They have jumbo connect four, chess and bean bag toss, outside BBQ grills, pools and a fire pit. There are plenty things to do on the island.
Headed back to Florida found this gem. The room was cozy and clean. The fireplace was a nice touch. There was mixed reviews which made me hesitant on stopping here. I'm glad that I did. The place was charming and relaxing. I was in room 512 that had a beautiful view. Yes, the furniture is a little dated but renovations are coming. The beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast is continental, I would like to see more hot options in the future. This is a nice resort and I would definitely stay here again. I would recommend speaking to the front desk if you have a problem with your room to allow them the opportunity to remedy the situation.
