We visited family living in Hamilton and Smithville for 5 days. The Homewood Suites was our base of operations. It worked perfectly. Staff was great and very helpful. The room was nice, the location convenient to things in the center of town and easy to get to the QEW and other highways to places we wanted to go. We would highly recommend it.
Stayed at the Homewood Suites for the week for a conference. Nice suite with the typical amenities and comp breakfast. Had a view of the escarpment that embraces Hamilton. It's located in the heart of the city and close to malls, restaurants, etc... all walkable distances within minutes. I stay in many hotels so this was a typical suite - nothing that wows you but nothing that detracts. I'd recommend Hilton's Homewood Suites.
This property is located near downtown and is about a 15 minute drive from the airport. The hotel looks new or newly renovated and the rooms are spacious. The interior is very nice and has is very modern. Unfortunate for us, though there was no hot water in our room. The front counter staff said they would send up maintenance but never did. The room stay was nice and quiet. As for restaurants near by we found a fast food restaurant and older style pub within walking distance.
Room was fabulous. Very clean. Very modern. Bed comfy. Room was very spacious. All in all it was a really nice stay. Loved the evening social. Staff at bar very pleasant and reception helpful when I asked questions
This hotel is very comfortable and well located for the downtown area of Hamilton. Welcoming staff and many different types of accommodation available. The breakfast buffet was clean, organized and plentiful.
Feeling at home. I like the social activities for dinner time. Traveling alone, it's less boring after a long day at work. The place is clean, staff always there to help you out. The location is very convenient and there is a indoor garage.
If you need a hotel in downtown Hamilton this is the place. I was in town for only one night for a family wedding and everyone loved the hotel. The room was huge, clean, and modern. No issues with checking in, was very fast.
This hotel is my favorite hotel in Hamilton Ontario canada, because of the location which is excellent, the high quality of service, the excellent breakfast, the neatness of the room, the friendly atmosphere and the welcoming environment.
Nicely furnished, 2 TVs in 2 rooms! They have Fox News Channel! A fairly nice complimentary breakfast w a Dark roast coffee available. Across the street is 24 hr A&W if you arrive late. 3 KM McMasters Hospital. I'd stay here again for price, location and quality if visiting Hamilton.
I stayed one weeknight in room 308. The hotel was not busy, so I didn’t come across any problems with the elevators like past reviewers have mentioned. Location The Homewood Suites by Hilton is located in downtown Hamilton. The main intersection is Main Street West and Bay Street North, but the main entrance is on George Street. It’s close to restaurants, bars, art galleries, Jackson Square mall, theatres, First Ontario Centre, and shops. Downtown Hamilton may seem a little grungy, but it’s actually safe. Service They allow early check-in if your room is available, but if you check in before 12pm there’s a $20 fee. Since the hotel is located downtown, you’re stuck with pay parking. It’s $12.50 and underground. I’m not sure if that’s per night or per stay. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and an “evening social”. The breakfast is buffet-style, which I’m not a fan of. I did take a look at what they had to offer, though, because past reviews had mentioned that they offered waffles. Unfortunately, on this particular day, there weren’t any. They had scrambled eggs, sausages, hash browns (I think), sliced bread, and a few other things. I don’t care much for mingling with strangers, so I skipped the “evening social” . . . whatever that is. On the ground floor, there’s a lounge area and a couple of desktop computers and a printer. The swimming pool is also located on the main floor. From what I saw, it looked fairly small. On the second floor, there were a few conference rooms, the dining area and the gym. The gym is equipped with a few treadmills, elliptical machines, free-weights and a couple other machines. Disinfectant wipes are provided. There is complimentary WiFi service in the hotel. I’m not sure what the speed is, but it was good enough for my needs, which was just basic internet surfing. A key card is required to access the pool area, the gym and all guest floors. So, if you have any visitors or food deliveries, you have to go get them at the lobby. All staff members that I came across were professional and pleasant. Rooms I stayed in room 308 which is a one-bedroom suite with two queen-sized beds. You have full control of the heating and air conditioning. Unfortunately, the only thermostat is located in the living room. The lighting is fairly dim, except in the entrance and the bathroom area. The living room has a sofa and sofa chair, a couple of square ottoman chairs, a coffee table, a desk, an office chair, and an LG LED TV (32”, I believe). The TV catches 51 channels, none of which interested me. However, it would have been easy to connect my laptop to it with my HDMI cable had I chosen to. The kitchen has a breakfast counter with two stool chairs, a dishwasher, a kitchen sink, an induction cooktop and a full-sized fridge. The kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, cutlery, and induction cookware. Along with the beds, the bedroom has a night table with an alarm clock/radio/MP3 player, and another LG LED TV on a TV stand with drawers that had extra duvets. The only closet in the suite is actually located in the bedroom. It has extra pillows, hangers, an iron and ironing board. I did not see a safe anywhere in the suite. The bathroom sink is separated from the rest of the bathroom and is part of the bedroom. Included are two bars of soap; a small bottle of shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer; a couple of face towels, three hand towels, an extra roll of toilet paper, a couple of glasses and a hair dryer. No shower cap. The bathroom is made up of a toilet and a Jacuzzi tub with a regular and handheld showerhead. Both had good water pressure. I didn’t try out the Jacuzzi function. The bathroom includes four towels. HSBH doesn’t seem to switch out toilet paper between guests. Cleanliness I was initially very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and room, but this is where HSBH lost points with me. The sofa and sofa chair were badly stained. I’ve seen cleaner sofas on curbsides. I also saw a plastic bottle cap next to the sofa, and I came across a floss pick behind the bed skirt. Although the duvet, sheets, and pillow cases were clean, most of the pillows had light staining and the staining on some of the pillow covers was even more visible. All the towels I used were clean. Sleep Quality I’m not a light sleeper, so I had no issues. I did not hear any guests or street noise. You can hear water running through the pipes when people flush their toilets, but I only heard that when I was awake. As nice as the Homewood Suites by Hilton is, I probably wouldn’t stay here again. There are similar hotels in the area at a lower cost.
