The hotel is just an average Holliday inn. However, something worth mentioning is breakfast. My first impression is it was just another hotel-breakfst buffet. But it has impressed me. The highlights are the juices (couldn't try them all...., give it a shot to guanabana), and their cook for eggs and quesadillas, who prints a seal to the food she delivers. Last but not least, if possible, ask to be sitted close to Carlos. The best waiter who will not let your glass and cup be ever empty!
I deliberately checked out of my normal hotel (the Intercontinental) and checked into the Holiday Inn Expo to see what it was like. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised and would certainly come back to this hotel without hesitation. First thing you will notice as you walk in is that while it is an older hotel, the lobby space really is quite traditionally elegant. The woodwork, furnishings and artwork first caught my eye. I took some time after checking in to walk around the hotel and snapped some great photos of the beautiful pool area and the lobby. I would have loved to have spent a day at the pool although my stay didn't allow it this time. There's also a restaurant on the top floor which today is not in operation but I got to walk around and see what the space was like. As I checked in, the reception staff were very friendly. The receptionist was a trainee and we had a little bit of a communication problem but laughed our way through it successfully. I was given a room on the top floor which was completely comfortable and as I expected. The bed had 6 pillows (I had requested extra pillows) so I was totally happy. In the room, there was also a refrigerator which I used to keep some sodas cool that I had had purchased at the convenience store across the street (walkable from the hotel). I had a great sleep. In the morning, I ate at the buffet breakfast and thought that they had a nice assorted selection. Overall, I had a great stay. I thought that all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet and the room comfortable. Definitely would return here.
A thirteen night business stay, the room was pleasant and clean although a the bathroom sometimes smelt bad, this seems to come from the sink so it's best to close the plug. There was no mini bar or fridge and after a few days the nearly empty vending machine was switched off so there was no way to quickly get a cold drink after a long hot day at work. Room was noisy due to badly sealed windows and noise coming form external air con plant and traffic. Coffee for coffee machine not replaced for whole stay. Breakfast was OK with a good choice of fresh fruit and hot food but some mornings there was no bowls for cereal. Most frustrating thing is they insist on printing out a form to sign after breakfast, having to wait for them to do this is a real pain if you've got someone waiting in a car outside. Lifts randomly stop at floor six for some reason!
Room was nice and big....all updated. bed comfortably. However, we were give a room in which you could hear everything, right next to the laundry room, elevators and stairway. You could even feel the vibrations in the wall. When we complained they dare tell us that we had the opportunity to say we didn't like the room when the bellboy showed us the room....obviously we didn't have enough time to know we even had a problem. They ended up giving us another room only after going back and forth for 20 minutes and asking for a refund.
Nice hotel which lives up to the usual Holiday Inn standard. The room is clean, tidy and spacious. Staff at the reception desk and in the breakfast restaurant are all very friendly and helpful. This hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Plaza del Sol so it is very convenient for finding somewhere to eat every night.
Though this is place 30 to 40 min away from Airport, you will love this place. Centrally located in Zapopan, it is 15 min drive to Anderas mall or 15 min to 20 min to City center. Awesome breakfast, kids < 12 eat free. Excellent customer service. I suggest learn spanish (basic) to communicate and it helps a lot. Uber service is very good in Guadalajara. Traffic is manageable. But, we joined our stay for 4 days during our first visit to this historic city. I am glad that we stay in Zapopan area.
We use this hotel for an international congress and it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful and attendees were happy with the meeting rooms, coffee break area, social areas (gardens and pool), as well as very happy with the catering. The hotel looks nice, clean, and was up to our expectations for having an international 3 days congress. Our point of contact in the hotel was super kind, and was always happy to support and help us with our needs. They offered us solutions and were flexible with our group. The hotel rooms for our group were nice, and it was very convenient for us to have everything in the same place. Thanks Holiday Inn Guadalajara Expo for making our International Congress experience a great one.
This hotel was well designed, from the outside it looks like a normal hotel in an urban setting. Then on your way to your room you past the indoor courtyard with a POOL under a tree canopy. This pool is a feature in itself, there is enough room for everyone to have their own little corner. But just in case swimming in a pool is not your thing, having drinks and snacks at this outdoor bar just might be!!
This is an older hotel which has been renovated somewhat. It's pretty basic though. Room was a good size, clean with a nice bathroom. Air con worked fine but only when the key is in the electricity slot. Lifts were quite slow so spent alot of time waiting for one. Breakfast was very nice, with a great selection.
The hotel is far away from the airport, but location is connected with good restaurants and shopping area around. The Hotel is not luxurious but comfortable. The service staff however expects tips and sometimes if you do not clarify and ask, you may end up paying extra amount eg I was charged for asking for a water bottle which was reversed after I asked reception.
