We recently stayed at Villa Ganz for 28 days, our second stay, and it was simply wonderful - again. Awesome staff - Armando, Juan, Emanuel. Samantha, Lidia, Brenda, Dulce, & Manse. And of course owners & managers Sally, Klix, Silvio & Isabelle! Beautiful hotel and great location for enjoying real Guadalajara food and culture. Also easy access to outlying attractions if that is your thing - and very close to el centro. Great place to wake up to breakfast with Manse in the cocina. Nice wine happy hour at 6 PM. Service, service, service. Awesome! We'll be back soon!
One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Stunning antique furnishings and mirrors everywhere, amazing brickwork in the ceilings. The staff are very polite and helpful, and in the evening there they offer a complimentary glass of wine and snacks.
What a serene, lovely hotel! This magnificent mansion built in the 1920's sits in the heart of Colonia Lafayette which is a contemporary part of the city bustling with cars, buses, taxis and pedestrians. Restaurants and nightlife abound in the area. Once inside you are transformed into a by-gone era of beautiful old world Spanish Colonial furnishings and beautifully manicured gardens. This is a small boutique hotel and we were stayed in the grand master suites, Doloritas Suite, which was so lovely with its front sitting area with beautiful old candle that they would light at night. Despite the traffic at night the room was extremely quiet and we slept well every night and felt very safe. The bed, pillows and linens were wonderful and the room is kept very clean as is the rest of the property. The services were superb; the staff makes you feel as if it is your home and they are there to please. Each staff member does a multitude of duties and all were wonderful especially Armando, Lydia and Montania who was always ready with my morning coffee. But I actually could go on and on because all the staff were warm friendly and very accommodating. After a long day of touring it was great to have an evening glass of wine a little cheese which was complimentary or you could have a cocktail or a glass of fine tequila and relax in the main living room or sit out in the garden or terrace. We had breakfast every morning on the terrace with complimentary muffins, fruit and cold cereal and coffee. They also have a small menu where you can have eggs, bacon, french toast or pancakes. We stuck primarily with 2 fried eggs with toast everyday and they where very good and very inexpensive especially when you consider hotel prices. We also met the owners Sally and Click who are wonderful, keeping a watchful eye over all the goings on. They live in a lovely upper level apartment behind the terrace. The household cat, Buba, is a sweet as can be and just makes you feel more at home. We certainly had a wonderful weeks vacation in Guadalajara enhanced by staying at the wonderful Villa Ganz!
We visited for three days and the hotel has this tranquility atmosphere, as soon as you step in the hotel you relax automatically. Service is amazing, rooms are all different with a unique decoration. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars.
I came to the Villa Ganz for a three week stay while undergoing cosmetic surgery. The hotel is a beautiful small boutique hotel and each room has a lovely unique decor. The service was fantastic and the staff was extremely helpful. They not only served meals in our room with candle light and flowers, but they also brought us food from other restaurants on the block. There is a lovely courtyard restaurant where you feel like you are dining in a hidden garden oasis. The staff arranged for tour guides, taxis and answered all our questions with patience and courtesy. The cleaning staff leaves the rooms immaculate on a daily basis and even arranges the towels with ribbons and bows in an artistic manner. It was truly a home away from home.I stayed in room14 which was a 2 room Grand Master Suite. My only suggestion would be that they replace the sofa, but it was not used. Room 15 is spectacular, and if you are looking for one of the smaller rooms, I briefly stayed in room 17 and it has a domed brick ceiling and a great bathroom. If you are visiting Guadalajara Villa Ganz is the right choice!
My friend and I decided to stay at Villa Ganz for our 2 week recovery from surgery. We couldn't have made a better choice. I gave the hotel 4 stars because the WIFI in our room (#14 - one of the larger suites) kept switching from one router to another, making it difficult to stay online. They tried to fix the problem with some success. Since we spent a lot of time in our room this would have been a great thing to perfect. Other than that, Villa Ganz was stupendous. The staff is the best! They went above and beyond anything we could have imagined so that we were comfortable and well taken care of. They put a table in our room so we could comfortably eat privately. They picked up meals for us at nearby restaurants. We tipped them for this, but the fact that they were willing to do this was so helpful. Before our surgery we had time to do some sight seeing. The hotel arranged for a guide to give us an historic tour of Guadalajara. He also does Tequila tours. Fun! Xavier is his name. The food is delicious here. They actually order it from the restaurant across the street. Breakfast is made here and was delicious. Great coffee. I would recommend room #15. It's the largest and the prettiest. Ours was also nice, but the sofa was a little old. The smaller rooms are also lovely. The location is very safe with lots of things to do all around the hotel. We used UBER to get around. Villa Ganz was like a home away from home. I would definitely stay here again.
It is close to american embassy. It is like a boutique hotel, few rooms. The rooms are big, clean. Breakfast is good, and the breakfast room is chic. The service is excellent. It has parking space for six cars, outside, in front of entrance. Across the street is a public parking. There are many restaurants in the same street of the hotel, a lot of options in tastes and prices. I recommend the hotel. Prices are adequate for the area.
This Hotel was exquisite! The staff was kind and attentive, the service was tremendous, the atmosphere was incredible. Close enough to some attractions to walk, not too far by Cab to others. Can't wait to stay again!
It was superb...our room was beautiful, immaculate and comfortable. The people could not have been friendlier or more helpful and the property was elegant, quiet and perfect in every way. There was a lovely breakfast available on a covered patio off a beautiful garden accompanied by an adorable resident cat! Wine in the evening with candles lit everywhere...just a lovely experience
My family of two adults and two teenagers spent a total of five nights at Villa Ganz. Emmanuel Sanchez at the front desk went out of his way to place extra beds in our beautiful Master Suite to accommodate everyone the way we wanted prior to our arrival. Colleague Armando Blanquet in the front desk was incredibly service-minded and thoughtful. He gave us a really good recommendation for a knowledgeable and English-speaking guide for the obligatory excursion to nearby town and agave fields of Tequila. But best of all; Villa Ganz does not come across as a hotel, but a wonderfully hospitable home with authentic interior design and a marvelous court yard that makes you forget that you're located in the heart of a large metropolis. I travel extensively but never get around to posting reviews. With Villa Ganz I simply just had to. I give it my warmest recommendation.
