I was booked at this hotel through BMW for a driving school. The hotel is 20 years old but has been maintained very well. The décor in the hallways seemed just a little tired and the trim pieces in the elevators where rough, but those are the only visible things that seemed dated or worn. The room was in good shape with a comfortable bed and plenty of space. The furniture in the room was in good shape and everything was in working order including the fridge. The room was clean and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a delightful experience and surprise. The restaurant and bar in the hotel were great as well. I will write a short review for those under the name of the restaurant. As a side note… BMW utilizes this hotel for all of the overnight guests at their multi day driving schools. They also book this hotel and a couple others in the area for employees and executives who are in town from Germany. In our experience the employees were sociable and appreciated any opportunities to engage in conversation and practice their English (which was very good.)
When evaluating a hotel experience, values for money paid is important to me. For some reason, on that weekend I was staying, room rate was USD 250 plus tax. If I pay that much for a hotel room, it better be good. Unfortunately, Greenville Marriott disappointed on all levels. First of all, when we arrived with quite some luggage, no bell boy was to be seen. We paid for a premium room, which frankly, was a joke. Very old, very small. We were 3 persons, it was really too small for 3 persons. No USB ports for charging devices. Are you kidding me? When we arrived, internet wasn't working. We got in touch with help desk. While agent was very friendly and helpful, it took almost an hour to get things working. Executive lounge was closed for the weekend. Let me get this right, you are charging significantly more money for the weekend and you are reducing services? The voucher of USD 10 you are offering is almost an insult. Is this how you are valuing the benefit of an executive lounge? Furthermore no laundry machine in the building, and, no laundry service on the weekend. Elevators are so old, I got stuck at some stage and had to forcefully open the door. Needless to say, when we checked out, there was actually a bell boy manning the counter, but he couldn't care less to help us. All in all, very disappointing experience with Marriott. I know Marriott mainly from Asia. What I experienced at your place has nothing at all to do with what I am expecting from a brand like Marriott.
All the service was excellent, the breakfast buffet is just amazing , the service is very kind and everybody is always taking care of you. The rooms are well equipped , the water pressure on the shower is at the best point , all very clean and well organized. The location is excellent on Pelham road you will find a lot of dining options and it is not far away from downtown Greenville.
I stayed two nights for business at this hotel. Very nicely appointed lobby and entrance. Rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The restaurant at the hotel was one of the best "in hotel" place to eat that I think I have ever encountered. Breakfast buffet had a huge variety and the service was excellent. I had dinner there one night and again, food was extremely good and service was great. The hotel is quiet and beds are comfortable. I only had one request from the hotel when housekeeping did not leave me coffee and within 5 minutes someone was at my door.
This hotel was very clean, organized, and attractive. I liked the amenities, even though I didn't go visit them. Pros: Staff - The staff here were excellent! The cordial young man at the desk (can't remember his name, but he's the front office manager) was very welcoming at check-in. Cynthia at the restaurant was amazing, and kudos to Anna at check-out. Room - Our room was very clean. Unlike other hotels, even though it wasn't a suite, the room felt spacious inside. Beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, I did stain blood on the sheets, but quickly got over it like it was no big deal. Cons: Nothing. Would I stay here again? Definitely would be a yes. Would I recommend it? If you are a luxury traveler, then I would highly recommend staying at the Marriott in Greenville. If you like small rooms, have a family of four and REALLY want your family to have an at-risk experience with chances of getting a regular room, with no amenities and just boring breakfast, then stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites next door.
I stayed there for 2 nights for the BMW school. The hotel is nice, but could use some updating. Some of the staff are great, some not so much, kind of hit or miss. I was there over the holiday period and the club room was closed and services were limited.
The place was super clean, I was put up here by BMW for my Driving Performance School and I couldn't be more thankful for such a great staff and place to sleep while attending the school. The hotel is super clean, spacious, amazing breakfast, had a lovely stay
Food was excellent. I had a grilled beef and the squash casserole. The squash was the best casserole I have ever had. Staff is excellent and the bar is a nice area for a drink. Decorated nicely for Christmas and hotel has ample parking
My wife and I stayed here again after a week with family for Thanksgiving prior to our early morning flight back across the country. Check in was smooth and was very friendly and pleasant. The room was as nice as always and we’ll be back next time we are in the area. Unfortunately we were only there about 9 hours so didn’t use any of the other hotel amenities. The shuttle driver to the airport was also very friendly and personable.
Great customer service by the staff. Everyone went above and beyond what was requested to make my stay that much better. No other hotel, at any star rating, has ever come close to this. Rooms were clean, bright, and had lots of amenities. If you are going to visit BMW for business or for the Performance Driving School as I did, this is your hotel - no question.
