Great size rooms and dog friendly! Staff very helpful.

Loved the room and amenities. Filtered water and mini bar. The steakhouse in the hotel was excellent. Love the 2pm checkout and check in time. Staff was very friendly. Will stay here on our next visit.

Family trip to Chicago it was a good choice to stay in the Jame Chicago. Easy to go dine and shopping.

Lobby is under renovation but still nice and modern. Rooms needed some updates and lacked cleanliness - I found chewed gum on top of a snickers in the mini bar. Gross! I only stayed one night for a work trip so, overall, the experience was fine. I wouldn't come back, though.

We LOVED staying at the James. The rooms were nice sized and the beds/pillows were terrific. The paper products are not great, but not too awful. The lotion, shampoo, and conditioners were WONDERFUL AND PLENTIFUL, no teeny bottles AMAZING number of accessible outlets and a tablet for accessing the desk, room service, maid service, extra pillows, etc. They even have free wifi with NO dorky login. PLUS, the James is pet (read dog AND cat) friendly with a selection of pet food on the room service menu and treats as well as toys available. The James is spectacularly located for shopping on either State St or Michigan Ave and is almost directly across from Navy Pier. Location was fairly quiet and has excellent places for food and jazz all within walking distance.

Extremely pleasant experience. Breakfast not included in rate but a Starbucks is nearby

I enjoyed my stay at the James. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Although there were renovations going on, it wasn't a big deal and didn't affect my experience. I had a nice, spacious room. I appreciated the extra work space area which I really needed to get some work done. Great location near Magnificent Mile and close enough to other sites if you're willing to walk. Would definitely consider booking here again in the future.

This hotel is well maintained, the staff is hospitable, and it's located right near the "Magnificent Mile". There is also a great restaurant and bar located within the hotel. There's also a spa and gym on the lower level of the facility. A majority of the log the locale attractions are with in a 10 minute walk or 2 minute taxi commute.

The lobby renovation was a surprise. Part of the delight of the James Hotel Chicago is the stylish public areas. Wished the website or was sent a notice to that effect prior to booking, or even arrival. With the renovation, staff was very helpful with directions and orientation of the temporary facilities. The rooms were smaller than remembered from last time, but were in fair condition. Staff was great. Not all doorman were enthusiastic about moving the bags up to relocated lobby on 2nd floor, but who could blame them.

We were Leary about spending $65/night on valet parking, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and felt at home. The valet was seamless and accommodating and made it worth the bite. Beautiful facility.

From the moment our car pulled up to the front of the hotel, the staff was super attentive to us at every corner the entire length of our stay. I have not had that often from hotels that don't charge an arm and a leg. Check-in was super easy and allowed us to check in early since they had a room available. Each time we entered and exited the hotel, we were greeted by a friendly employee. Despite the main lobby being under construction, it was not at all inconvenient using the temporary area/access.

We picked The James Hotel because of the proximity to Michigan Ave. The hotel is within walking distance of the magnificent mile, walking distance to the water tower, and the John Hancock building. The staff was great and so helpful. My kids loved the complimentary hot apple cider. The rooms were large and spacious. The only downside was the beds. The room had 2 full size beds. The room was large enough that 2 queen size beds would fit. I definitely would stay at The James again.

The rooms are comfortable. The staff is really friendly. The gym is very well equipped.

Great location, wonderful staff from start to finish. Our issue was the room furniture was very worn and uncomfortable. Likewise with the upstairs common areas.

The check-in was great. The concierge was helpful. The rooms are small, but comfortable. The bar inside the room vas pricey; so go down Traders Joe and get you a good bottle of wine.

We are frequent visitors to Chicago and we have found a new home away from home. The staff was great. The room was great. The workout facility was great. The location was perfect. We will be returning soon

Check in was friendly and efficient, I was able to check in early, always appreciated. Room was clean and comfy. Needs a bit of updating/repair in spots but overall was pleasant

i think your staff is wonderfulI i really enjoyed Sarah and Audrey in your hotel bar! Owning my own restaurants back in denver i know how important a good staff is! please let them know they made stay even better and look forward to seeing them on my next visit! You guys keep up the awesome job you all do!

We had s great time!!! Wonderful location! The staff was so friendly!!!! The beds were super comfy!!!! And room service breakfast was awesome!

This hotel's best attribute is its location and its staff. I contacted the staff to plan out my extended weekend with family in Chicago. They were responsive and very helpful. They have bikes available to guests and they have a very welcoming lobby area. The rooms could have been a little cleaner.

Dear Melissa, Thank you for your kind words regarding your recent stay at The James Chicago. I do apologize for the cost of the parking but that is the one unfortunate aspect of our location, parking is at quite a premium. I am very happy to hear that you took notice of the service that was extended to you by all of our team members. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
