The Robey

We stayed here for a weekend. Couple things to note; the bed is the hardest bed I have ever slept on. Impossible to fall asleep. Water is either burning or freezing in the bathroom. I was also told the hotel doesn't recycle, each room has an $18 charge that includes water, soda and beer. I can only image the amount of cans and bottles that end up in the trash. I would recommend this hotel and very unlikely to stay here again.

The Robey has achieved a great combination of location, food and hospitality. If staying in Wicker Park, it is the best. The restaurant is one of the ‘stars’ in the area for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Lovely hotel. Small and well appointed room on quiet side of street. Cafe had excellent menu. Every meal we had was delicious and price was very reasonable.Breakfast was fabulous! We will return to visit family in Wicker Park!

Our stay was well worth the money. We have a little one so it was great to be located in walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. I highly recommend the corner suite due to its incredible view.

The ROBEY was unique in style and not your average type of hotel room. It's trendy and hip not comfy and cozy. If you're ok with cold glossy floors, and lockers in your room then this is the Hotel for you. The Hotel experience was nice, and the Cafe was amazing. I would stay there again, mainly for the convenience of the location.

What an incredible stay! Staff is so helpful, hotel design is beautiful, amenities and food wonderful! Carla at the front desk was so sweet, she offered up great suggestions for food and sightseeing and was just a joy to be around!

We always enjoy our time at the Robey. Especially the food, cocktails and toiletries. I'm sure we'll be back soon! The rest of this review is just filler to hit the 200 character minimum for trip adviser ;)

Really enjoyed my recent stay at the Robey. What a refreshing change from your usual hotel room boring. Loved the lounge and the Up-Room roof-top bar view. Guests receive nice additional perks like dining discounts. Staff very attentive and friendly. Rooms very clean, with great touches like free water/beer and snacks every day! A little noisy, even on the top floor, but they've got you covered with complimentary ear plugs and nice black out shades.

Several months ago, after writing a mostly favorable lengthy review pointing out several issue, I received a cordial, appreciative message from the manager, thanking me for taking the time and responding to every point. He offered an inducement to give the Robey another try next visit to Chicago. That four-day visit took place last Thu-Mon. The hotel is around the corner from the Blue Line Damen Ave station (no elevator), which is most convenient if you are traveling light. $5 from O'Hare, $2.50 to O'Hare. The hotel and restaurant staff were delightfully welcoming and professional. There was even a bottle of cava waiting for us, aside from the included complimentary Fiji water, local beer, and snacks in the room. Our corner suite (highly recommended) had a fabulous view of the funky Wicker Park neighborhood and Chicago skyline. The king bed is very comfortable with high-quality linens. The bathroom is spacious with two sinks and a powerful walk-in shower. There are a few design quirks with the lighting and electric shades, but the overall favorable experience overshadows them. The Robey Cafe offers breakfast/brunch/lunch from 7 AM til 2 PM, with many good choices; the coffee and fresh OJ are excellent. Dinner is also very good, but we didn't dine in this visit as there are numerous great restaurants nearby, some within easy walking distance. My wife and I feel very much at home at the Robey and look forward to returning.

We truly had an excellent stay. The amenities, location, & service of the Robey made my first trip to Chicago truly special. This first trip was business, but I plan more visits to Chicago with my wife to see friends and we will most definitely stay with you .
