Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile

Hotel was overrun with convention. Could not ever get thru lobby, restaurants, store, into elevators without being inundated with huge crowd of people. Lobby area was so overrun with loud obnoxious people that I couldn't hold a conversation with my companion. Towels were cheap and scruffy. Toiletries were not replenished. Shower temp was impossible to regulate. Kleenex was cheap like cardboard. Not at all what was expected for the premium price I paid.

Stayed in the hotel many times... was not up to par the AC did not work and the room was dirty

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Front desk, room service and the gentleman who held our bags on our last day after we checked out we're all very present. Room was clean and had a great view. Breakfast food though was average and over priced. Save your money and check out a local restaurant.

Location was pretty central to many activities and sights but the room was small and very simple. I'm still surprised that there are hotels that charge fees for in-room wifi... Not cool. We asked for a trundle bed and did not receive it the first night, we had to ask again for second night.

Was awesome location but pricey for such a very small normal room, no great view from my room.

Perfect spot on the Magnificent Mile, close to everything. If you arrive early you can store your bags with bell services while you go about the town, and the hotel will call once your room is ready. Most requests made through third party booking, like this, aren't honored. We had to wait for a double bed room although one was requested through Orbitz. We paid for the breakfast package but were not told that it includes only two adults and two children and ended up paying extra for our other two adults because the hotel didn't honor it because it was booked through a third party. The hotel was nice, clean and convenient, the only trouble we experienced dealt with little details that could have been avoided through better communication from the third party booking site.

Second time I have stayed at this hotel this year... Location is fantastic with lots to do within walking distance. Hotel staff is very helpful and accommodating. Facility is clean and easy to navigate. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Magnificent Mile.

The location and price of the hotel was excellent. There were a lot of things close within walking distance and a lot of good restaurants as well. The hotel lobby/bar was nice and the cafe with starbucks coffee was bonus.

Front desk seems to be not welcoming nature. She should not be positioned there at all. Or maybe she is just having a bad day. Also called if room is available for early check in, the person said to come in to check if available. What's the point of the phone call?

We had requested a rollaway bed and this was either not communicated to the hotel by Orbitz or the hotel screwed up. This causes temporary problems because we checked-in around 11pm.

perfect location- staff incredibly helpful. All went out of their way to answer any questions about the area.

Great location. Great view Close to shopping, restaurants and el

The location of the Marriott was ideal for runners in Chicago Marathon. Since we had 2 kids with us we needed a suite which cost $565 per night. The small suite was small and simple. I would try Trump, Four Seasons, or Ritz next time for the price.

My hotel experience at the Marriott on Michigan Ave. was terrible! We had a guaranteed 4pm check in time. Our room was not available until after 5pm, making us late for an important event. We requested 2 double beds they gave us one king bed w a sofa couch that had no sheets on it, and the mattress was filthy. There was garbage in the garbage can upon arrival and not nearly enough fresh towels for the 3 people occupying the room. The manager did absolutely nothing upon arrival to help get us into a room. The location is great, but would never stay at this hotel again.

Great location and had a very spacious room. Would stay here again.

Stayed for the weekend after seeing a play. Hotel was great - room was very comfortable and had a great time watching the Blackhawks in the bar. Highly recommended.

This was our first trip to Chicago and it was perfect. The hotel, was very comfortable and our room was ready for us by 11 a.m. Being able to,have breakfast in the lobby, or a snack or drink later was very convenient. We spent 2 days exploring the Magnificient Mile, just steps away, which was gorgeous with the hundreds of blooming tulips. We spent time at the Art Institute, the Aquarium, and the Bean. The River architectural tour is not to be missed Definitely planning a return trip.

I booked one night here. The rooms are nicely furnished, but small. The bathroom is very small. It was quiet and did everything a room should. Great location, staff was very helpful.

Everything was as advertised and more. The biggest quality was the helpful and always pleasant staff. Definitely will stay here again.

Centrally located nice quint bldg. OK pool no sauna...they could raise the heat a bit.
