The room was too small. We stayed on a queen bedroom and there was no enough space to put luggge, closet small that could not fit the luggage. There was no room to walk.

Street construction near the entrance made getting into the hotel a bit of a challenge, but the staff were great about telling us how to make arrivals and departures as painless as possible. We were there for the World Series, and the facility seemed a bit overwhelmed. The room itself was clean and bright, functional, but small. The walls seemed paper thin. The neighbor actually woke me up talking on his cell phone, and I could hear not only every word he said, but part of what his caller was saying. I actually thought at first that someone was in my room!

This motel was close to the train to wrigley. However the bathroom was really small and the shower pull took strength to pull up, the room was clean and comfortable. The elevators were very slow, breakfast was very good but a mad house!! Would stay here again, motel is walking distance to most everything!!

Great free breakfast with some even warm options to pick from, hard to find in the city. Rooms are small but fully stocked, and how much time are you going to spend there anyway. Had a feature where you had to swipe your room key before going up in elevator which DID NOT work. We made several unnecessary rides up and when we told the staff they looked at us like we were idiots. The feature was turned off after day 3 due to not working, what do ya know?

No, it's not a 5 star, but it is affordable and comes with free breakfast (breakfast not the greatest, but at least you can grab something early in the morning - there's a Trader Joe's across the street with lots of good food as well). Room comes with coffeemaker, staff very polite and helpful. Hotel in the heart of downtown, a few blocks away from the metro as well as buses on State St and Michigan Ave.

Small room but didn't matter. Everything was great.

Small, but pleasant room. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom immaculate. When two issues about a loose basket in the bathroom, and a loose screen were reported, they were repaired immediately! The breakfast was excellent. The staff really outstanding.....from housekeeping to kitchen, to front desk, to doorman...all were just great!

Very nice and professional staff . Clean room. Continental breakfast included. Very good location.

Small rooms but very charming feel and good utilization of space.

I have never been a hotel like this. My wife has been sting by an unnamed bug on pillow at middle of night. Her whole shrouded is red and swollen immediately. We reported to the front desk, they promised me they will check what's the bug is and report to us. But we have been stayed this hotel for 17 days. There is nobody contact us. The red and swollen of my wife's shoulder has been shown around 10. This is terrible issue we never met before. The front desk people is not friendly. They don't have enough patience to answer your question if you have two or questions. Room is so small and nobody do maintenance. The shower in our room was damaged. We ask the housekeeper reporting to fix or replace. But there is nobody to do it until we leave.

The hotel has a great location in Chicago's River North neighborhood, a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile. My room was small but well-outfitted it might have felt crowded with two people but it was very comfortable for one. While the building is the historic Cass Hotel, all the furnishings were new. The free breakfast was fine-- fairly standard for these kinds of hotel chains. The WiFi worked well. I forgot my toothbrush and razor and the front desk gave me free replacements. The staff were all friendly and efficient. I had a nice city view from my 16th floor window. The elevator was a little slow All in all a good value.

The location of this hotel can not be beat! Great staff and very quiet.

The staff at the hotel was friendly! Plan on paying around $50/night for parking (something we didn't budget for in advance). Location is awesome, lots of shopping, eating, etc. within walking distance. While our room was a good deal, it was TINY... You could hardly get past the bed to get to the bathroom. Overall, great deal in an ideal location for 1-2 people for a short stay.

We came here for a 3 night stay. The staff is very friendly, helpful and treat you like you're a 5 star guest. They are more than happy to answer questions, check on your comfort and ensure your stay is pleasant. They are very genuine and always have a smile on their face. They are very flexible to their guests needs and do the best they can to accommodate any special circumstances. The location is prime, we walked everywhere and I got to the hotel directly from the airport terminal to within walking distance of the hotel for $5 L train fare. If you need a taxi they work with select drivers to negotiate a flat fee for long distances. The rooms are on the small side but that's to be expected in metropolitan cities like NYC and Chicago, but it's basically just enough room for a bed and bathroom, not much room otherwise. The room was always spotless and bed linens always fresh and clean. I would most certainly come back again.

Excellent location! Friendly hotel staff, and comfy beds. Rooms were small, and parking was expensive, but the location was perfect for access to great shopping and restaurants.

The hotel is nice and clean, eventhough it used to be an old hotel in the past. love the fact that you can still see the old sign board. Its right in the center, close to train station. Loved it

Hotel was in a good location. Room was small but clean and comfortable.

The trip was great. From the flight to the hotel , feel In love in Chicago. The hotel is on great location in the city walk distance from all attractions. Love it!

This Holiday Inn Express manages to maintain the boutique hotel experience that the original hotel had. Old Chicago glamour, great location and very helpful staff. Newly done rooms on the small side as you would expect from a downtown boutique hotel.

Great location for a business trip. The rooms are small but the location is walking distance to many businesses located downtown.
