This was our first visit to Chicago. The hotel and staff were amazing. They went out of their way to meet any and all our needs. We were treated like we were famous!!! I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else the next time I visit Chicago. The hotel was in the downtown area and located near everything!!! Thank you Orbitz for the hook up!!!!!
The place is very nice, people were friendly and the view was awesome. Location is excellent
Nice and clean. great views. Breakfast was good, although i thought it was over priced at $21 for buffet.
We live in chicago and wanted a night away from the children. We got it at this hotel hotel! Not only that we had an absolutely awesome view of the city all night long. Pillows were comfy, our room was quiet. Only draw back is the shower pressure is terrible and the tub is miniature sized. But that wasn't a huge deal since we were there more for a getaway than a spa experience in the bathroom.
Only thing missing is a hot tub Nice pool and workout facilities Easy cab access Cost of parking a little high-35 a night
Friendly staff and clean rooms. Johnny the door man and Angelica the receptionist were very helpful!
nice area, very clean hotel. There is shops that are attached to this hotel so It made it easier to get food when in a rush.
The location has a great view. A little odd that the lobby is on the 15th floor and the building is in odd place and the taxi driver had trouble getting there even with GPS. The hotel itself is nice. A bit elegant in common areas.
The staff was very helpful and professional, made the trip seem easy.
The room was nice however the bed was severely uncomfortable and seemed worn. Also, the service at the Merchant Cafe was very slow due to what appeared to be result of being understaffed. Only 1 server at 7:00 pm on Valentine's day
I had asked for an early check in coming from Miami in advance. The account was noted accordingly, unfortunately the room blocked was unavailable, however the front desk was kind enough to check me in and give me an awesome room. As I opened the door it faced a large window which had one of the most beautiful views of the city I feel. It faced the river , its bridges and some of the most impressive buildings I have ever seen. Being born and raised in NYC, and living presently in Miami, that is a huge complement. Kudos to the Holiday Inn and its staff.
The hotel was in a great location. Understanding the competition in town for rooms with concert I thought that the price was still steep for what it offered.
Once we realized the lobby is on the 15th floor, we were set. A bit confusing at first. Staff was very professional and friendly. Room was large, clean, and over looked the Chicago River. We would stay again.
The hotel met my expectation as I have stayed there during my previous trips to Chicago. This time around it was very noisy, something I have not experienced in the past.
Hotel and room were clean. The front desk clerks were very nice and also was able to get us a room earlier then reservation time. The only drawback was that the bed being a bit lumpy.
The hotel was great. Very convenient for the things we wanted to do. We wanted to eat at several of the places around hotel as well as some of the social places for the night time. The hotel was very clean and the staff was great and friendly. Convenient to red line and blue line. Exactly what we expected. We want to two cubs games, the 360, navy pier, millennium park.
The overall experience was very good. The location was good. Close enough to Riverwalk & far enough to the chaos (traffic & crowded). The hotel bar was great. It had great views & it was relaxing. The only thing I would note is the registration staff could have done a better job. At check in our room was not available. They took my information & said they would call when ready. That never happened. I had to call to verify.
Located in the heart of downtown, this is one of the nicest hotel I've stayed. The room and lobby has nice view of Chicago river and some great skylines. Staff is courteous and rooms are clean and well maintained. Breakfast is too good to miss. Definitely would recommend.
Upon arriving to the hotel I found the parking and path to the front desk (on 15th floor) to be confusing. Once to the lobby it was very nice and had a good atmosphere. When I arrived at my room I noticed two things. First, a lack of plugs to run laptop, chargers, etc. Second I found easy mac dried up and left on floor under desk. I decided this was a vacuuming mistake and could look past. As the stay progressed I noticed other issues such as no toilet paper, no bars of soap, a rag on curtain rod in bathroom, and a long hair in sink. I told the situation to the people at the front desk who said This is unacceptable someone will be in touch! This turned out to be an empty promise as no one ever got in contact with me about the issues.
I felt that everything in the hotel was good for our stay. It is not very convenient to us for shopping and making a meal, because around the hotel there are not big markets for the shopping and food. It would be good if you could support free breakfast. In addition, it is a bit expensive for the hotel.
