The only problem was that the hotel heater room 1101 did not work properly (the thermostat needs to be fixed).

Paid for an upgrade - but did not like the view on the initial room, since we had paid for a great view. Complained to the front desk, who said that there was another room we could be given in the front of the hotel, but it was not cleaned. We were told to leave our luggage. Did not hear from hotel, as they said we would be called when our room was available. I called, told there was a room we "could be switched to" although the front desk said our name would be put on that room before we left. We were given the exact same room two floors down when we returned. Not the room at the front of the hotel with the lake view as originally told! We were not charged for the upgrade, but still, we were told we had the proper room in our name when we left them with our luggage in hold. They gave that room to someone else!

Great location and a friendly hotel staff made our stay wonderful!

Our view out the window was a brick wall. We're Hilton Honors members, but didn't get credits because we booked through Orbitz. We DID get our complimentary bottles of water & were told we also would have complimentary WIFI, but never could connect. The message light was on almost non stop. The message was about checking out & I listened to it many times, the light would quit flashing & then start again. I followed check out instructions from VM, they didn't work, was told they were transferring me, no one ever picked up. Can't adjust room temp below 70. Stayed here for proximity to Hot Chocolate 5K in Grant Park. Did so last year & had a great view of park. Pretty disappointed

Hotel is old but well kept. It is rather far from all action but is close to Art Museum and Millennium Park. Staff are kind. It was a good stay.

Hotel was reasonably priced and had everything I needed.

Bathroom shows wear and tear. Auxiliary heater rusty. Overnight bathroom cleaning hit and miss.

It was AMAZING the hotel, staff and the location were just great and so many things to do in the hotel where I didnt even to leave for anything. Will indeed be returning.

The room wasn’t cleaned when we got there , it looked as if it had been sitting for months. There was someone else’s hair on the towels and there was dust everywhere. The hotel room looked nothing like the pictures it’s older and the air conditioner was humid not blowing cool air. The parking was 72 a night so factor that into your cost.

Historic hotel near the lake with a good location. I traveled with my husband and two young children so was excited to have two bathrooms in our room. The excitement ended after spending restless nights on uncomfortable beds in sweltering heat. You're not allowed to adjust the thermostat below 70! We had a view of a brick wall and a mini fridge that barely kept things cool. The main restaurant for breakfast charges $29.99 per person for the buffet and a whopping $19.99 for continental! Needless to say, we walked about ten minutes to Yolk one morning and Cafe Luna another day. Both were excellent and much cheaper. No free coffee or newspapers in the lobby like most hotels offer, just a cafe to get Starbucks. One of the worst parts is they have a Hilton representative in the lobby approaching people like us with offers of staying at one of their resorts in Orlando for 4 nights at a price of $299. Once you are interested and have wasted 20 minutes of your valuable vacation time, you learn that you must sit through timeshare presentations to take advantage of the offer. I shouldn't have to be solicited inside the hotel by pushy people saying you have to decide right now bc the offer is only good for today. No one needs pressure on a family vacay. Final insult was when they charged us to stow our bags for two hours before leaving for the airport. I would never stay here again or recommend to anyone.

I have stayed at other Hilton hotels but was quite disappointed with this one. From the old hotel room and beds that felt like a motel, to the staff and car valets that were not cold, to the poor selection of food at the hotel restaurants. I choose this hotel out of convenience and close proximity for the Chicago Triathlon, but would have been better off selecting a better hotel a fee blocks further, paid less, been closer to better restaurants, and took a cab to the event.

Very nice hotel convenient to downtown attractions.

It honestly was the worst experience I’ve had at a hotel. The staff wasn’t very helpful. Our room was supposed to have 2 queen beds. Instead they proceeded to say that we were “upgraded” because they gave us a room with 2 bathrooms. So needless to say, I will NOT be returning.

The room looked clean on first glance but when you look closer there was dust on the counter and TV, dirt on the vanity and shower shelf and two pillow cases were dirty. Called to get new pillow cases and they were not there when we got back from the zoo. Then we noticed there were only two towels for a double queen room. The hotel asked if they could do anything but could not help us out with discounts or anything else. The pool was nice but the attendant kept telling kids to get off the lane lines. On Sat. Night with a cheerleading convention in town if you do not want kids on the lane lines take them out.

The Chicago Hilton was a nice place to stay while visiting Chicago. It is near museums, Grant Park, oversees Lake Michigan, near boat rides and plenty of good restaurants. It is an easy walk to public transportation and a short drive to Midway Airport.

had to wait in line for check in and wait in line for breakfast.
