Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

My wife and I and our two young daughters recently stayed at this Embassy for a night on our way home to Michigan from Minnesota. Our valet and check-in process were extremely quick and easy and they were happy to grant our request for a room on the highest floor available. Between 5-7:30p they have a “managers reception” on the mezzanine which included unlimited snacks, sodas, juices, beers and mixed drinks ALL FREE of charge! They also Serve a full breakfast buffet as well as custom made omelettes, also FREE! The room itself was also fantastic with two beds in a separate room from the living area which was a huge plus! It was very clean and well stocked as well and comfortable. If I had one issue it would be the double beds instead of queens but that’s the big city for ya, when space is at a premium. Overall the experience and location was fantastic and I will definitely be staying there next time I’m in town!

Overall this hotel is wonderful. Between the complimentary breakfast and happy hour (beware, you will stand in line for quite some time getting a drink), the overall appearance of the facility, and the terrific location, you will be very pleased. The wi-fi is horrendous, boderline doesnt even connect, so lets hope hope you have unlimited data. We also found a pillow that was pure yellow compared to its white counterparts, so that was a little offputting. All in all it was great though!

Great location. Very friendly staff and super kid friendly.

Perfect location. Kids loved the pool and breakfast was nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was great. Friendly staff. Went out of their way for us.

1st time staying and am definitely going to book this hotel for our annual trip to Chicago from now on. Was very roomy and the breakfast was wonderful . The staff was very friendly and was fast to assist when we requested more blankets .

From the valet attendant to the Front Lobby person all were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone. The breakfast was outstanding and delicious.

Room is clean and as described. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good.

Went to Chicago because its close and a great city. Stayed at embassy because of the breakfast, pool and a spa. I checked the website prior to leaving. When I arrived on Saturday there was a note under the door to the room. The pool and spa were closed due to upgrades. Nowhere on the website was this listed. I was very disappointed with this. I was on the 11th floor. Room was very dark, carpet had bare threads in many areas. North State street is very busy and noisy. This hotel ,while in a great location needs room upgrades better soundproofing. I feel that some compensation should be given to me because of no pool. I am a swimmer.

Great experience! food was great! friendly staff!

Great stay and good breakfast in the mezzanine. Over good but the bed could have better sheets.

We were disapointed in management when my wife ended up in the hospital and I was trying to get a room for another night they said they couldn't help us because we had made our reservations on line that's how we would have to see if there was another night available. They were not helpful at all. This was the 2nd time we stayed here and because of there lack of trying to help me, it will be my last.

Everything about our stay was great! We had to leave early due to a snow storm and Marisa and her staff helped us out tremendously. They went above and beyond for us. We will be back!

Disappointed with room. Carpet very worn and coming up at seam. Wallpaper in bathroom dirty. Bedroom sheet had marks on it. Room was very dated. Breakfast good with many choices.

There was some type of Nats flying around the room. And the Internet was really slow.

Room was outdated, stains on couch and carpet not very clean. Noise never stopped inside and outside the hotel

The hotel location is great, and I love Embassy Suites when staying with our kids for the extra room space. The hotel is in good condition and the Italian restaurant attached was wonderful. The breakfast is one of the largest offerings of any hotel with a free breakfast option, but the crowds can get very long leading to some of the items not being very hot in their serving trays. My only significant complaint however is with the pool, which we were specifically hoping to let our kids use. The pool was very cold, I'm not sure if is heated or not. And the chlorine in the hot tub overwhelmed me - burning my lungs and causing me to cough so much that we had to go back to the room.

We love having a two room suite so we can spread out a bit while travelling. We also enjoy the very nice breakfast including cooked to order items. It really helps to not have to find a local place to eat breakfast. And when it is cold out, it helps that we do not have to go outside to find something to eat. Love the mezzanine level so we can hang out, play cards, talk.

good location, friday nite reception ok too pricey

Loves this hotel!!! This is our second time staying there and it was better than the first!!! We will be back!!
