Great location! Fun vibe. Good nightlife. Staff was very helpful but not pretentios! We will most certainly stay there again when visiting Chicago!

Great experience the A.C. went out they fixed it immediately. Only draw back was.i felt as if we were targeted they was offering champagne to the guest at check in weren't offered any.My money spends like everyone else that stayed there. We didn't eat at hotel too many places to eat at cheaper price. Not trying to sound racist but that what it seemed like.Maybe I'll stay somewhere else in that area too many nice hotels too come back to same one.

The room was nice and the bed was comfortable but the service was so poor that it made my 5 night stay not nearly as great as it could have been. When I first checked in, there was only one person at the front desk so it took awhile to get checked in. My only request was not to be by an elevator so I was surprised when I went up to my room and it was the closest room to the elevator. Additionally, my room key did not work. I went back downstairs and had to wait again a long time and was able to get my room switched. My key for this room sometimes worked and sometimes not. The carpeting in this room was cut up into a small square from what appeared to be prior stains? The hallways were really gross and there was food left in the hallways for hours. Every morning I would hear housekeeping screaming to announce themselves and then talking to each other very loudly starting around 7:30am everyday. Additionally, the walls were so thin I would hear my neighbors throughout all hours of the night. Needless to say, I barely slept the entire time during my stay. I did not have my room cleaned the entire time and called and requested a towel and lotion. 45 minutes later someone arrived with towels but no lotion. On the elevator twice, staff were complaining about their job. Overall, it seems like management does not care about staffing or training the staff. Very disappointed in this experience.

Bad front service we arrived ar 230 they say the room will be ready at 3 but we did not get the room before 3 30 pm

the biggest disappointment was there wasn't a coffee maker in the room or free coffee downstairs. There was also construction going on that woke us up very early.

Nothing spectacular about the place but nothing terrible either

Dirty carpets, stain on the beds cover, peeling paints in the bathroom room looked like a motel, great Lobby dirty room I'll never stay there again even if it's free.

Great location. Very nice hotel especially in the common spaces. Professional and friendly staff. The decor in the rooms is a little "strange" for my personal taste - everything feels tiny. Also, the window AC units are less effective than desirable AND loud. Overall, the rooms are nice and tasteful - so much more good than bad here.

I got a deluxe room with king bed and it was not as I expected. The room had the king bed and other things, but it was 2 maybe 3 stars not really what I thought. The view was pretty bad. I think the bigger disappointment was the bathroom - the bathtub that I expected to be huge and good for baths was not big, just a typical small tub for showers. In general the hotel was clean and so was the room, but it was not deluxe for sure. The staff was polite and allowed for early check in, which was the reason I did not ask to change the room. The bar downstairs was cute and the decor was very cool, but only downstairs, I wish any of that carried to the rooms.

Truly enjoyed my stay, was in a king bedroom suite. The room is comfy. The library room lounge is ideal for coffee, adult beverage, work, reading, just lounging by the fireplace, play board games, a very nice area to spend quality time alone or with others as they pipe in awesome background music. The location is in nice proximity to restaurants- up Main Street, or to Olde Town, a few blocks away. Hotel summons taxis instantaneously. It is also a couple of blocks from the train station and water in the other direction. Entire staff was there to help.

Beautiful lobby and common areas. Rooms super basic, nothing too fancy.

Classic Chicago Hotel with impeccable service and staff. One block from Rush Street, great restaurants, and Clubs. So many restaurant choices! Parking is at a premium so prepare for high$. Very updated. I always look for 4 things. Security, cleanliness, TV, bed. Public Hotel Chicago delivered! The staff and location were a bonus. Thank you Thomas and the parking staff.

I have stayed at Public before and I was so happy to return. Set in the historic and beautiful Gold Coast neighborhood, Public is a seamless blend of old world charm and a clean, modern esthetic. We love the Zen decor of the rooms, the library for a relaxing breakfast and the beautiful bar and Pump Room for drinks and dinner. The staff is friendly and welcoming... I can't wait to return!!

We had some issues with the room - loud heater fan, tv remote not working, bad wifi connection and the bathroom door didn't close properly. However, the staff were very helpful and we were given a another room. We were there over the Christmas weekend and didn't realise that the restaurant was booked out for Christmas dinner. Since most restaurants were closed on the day, we had to spend a lot of time finding an alternative. It would have been appreciated if we were encourage to book a table while checking in to avoid disappointment.

Public is a beautiful hotel located in the Gold Coast, walking distance to shopping, restaurants, bars and Oak Street beach. This hotel has a hip, cool vibe, with modern amenities. We loved the coffee shop in the Library, Pump Room for cocktails and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We used valet service and that process was efficient as well. Check out the new Restoration Hardware Store located one block West of hotel... We enjoyed a glass of wine while touring the 5 floors of furnishings and had lunch in the atrium which was a really cool experience. Carmines is a local Italian restaurant which offers amazing choices. Overall, we will return to Public because it's off the beaten path, quiet yet walkable to everything we love about Chicago.

Nice quiet hotel still within walking distance to lots of the city's hot spots. Staff goes above and beyond for guests. Would definitely come again.

The Public Hotel impressed me with the style and ambience throughout the entire building. We wanted to just relax and enjoy the immediate surroundings which was easy to do at this property. Can't wait to celebrate again so we can return here...

Elegant clean and comfy. I never stayed in a room with so much white in it! Even though I was in downtown Chicago I didn't want to leave my room ;)

Hotel was good but I thought the overnite parking at $56 was high for a hotel guest

Good location comfortable and the staff was excellent
