No AC and the property manager was less than helpful
We arrived and saw an AC truck out front. The manager said they would be finishing up. No problem. We walked into a steamy home. Think Charleston heat in the summer. We contacted the manager and he said it would be finished shortly. Left for a few hours. Came back and it was no cooler. The thermostat screen was blank. Nothing worked at all. Manager says they would contact the AC company. He said portable AC units were a plan B.At dinner I received a text offering me 50% off or a refund of the day rate. He says the AC needed a part. He said portable AC were NOT available that night as previously mentioned. We could not stay. We had to scramble to find a hotel. We also discovered that the refrigerator wasn’t cooled properly. All the food that was very cold was now Luke warm and had to be thrown out. I asked for a further reduction since I had paid huge host and service fees. He refused.We went back the next day to find no AC service being done and the house was just as warm. We contacted VRBO as well. Not helpful. We asked for a full refund. Had to scramble to find a hotel. Actually had to book two different hotels to cover our stay. The manager was vague in his replies. He finally said we would be given a full refund although I have to wait 14 business days. Left hoping that we get the refund.This is not okay. He knew it wasn’t working when we arrived. Effort to fix was minimal. Just a refund of the daily rate. Be aware!!
