We have a Large family so the suite was very comfortable and spacious- great location to walk to restaurants, university etc

The staff is amazing here - super helpful and friendly.

Great staff, very helpful. Restaurant looks fabulous (trying to stay on a program) Trader Joes a couple blocks away to stock up, but the internet was unacceptable (avg speeds of 1-5mbps). Business travelers beware, probably just fine for leisure travelers.

This was our first time at River Inn. Stayed for the weekend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were little outdated. Bathrooms were little old. Beds were comfy. Had to keep calling housekeeping to replenish amenities daily. But overall it was a good stay.

Very nice place, and staff were helpful and joyous!

Nice to have a little kitchen. In a quiet neighborhood.

Rooms were really spacious! Very convenient hotel in a nice, quiet residential area.

Love the kitchen in the room. Renovations are nicely done. Unbeatable location.

LOVED THIS PROPERTY AND THE EXCEPTIONAL STAFF! Already booked our next trip.

Wonderful place. Beautiful room. Great neighborhood.

I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving here. My husband and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary in DC and after some price/review shopping, I chose this hotel. We rode the Metro from the airport to Foggy Bottom and walked about 2 blocks to this hotel. It looked like it came straight out of a magazine. The hotel is nestled between historic town homes with gorgeous trees lining the sidewalk - a beautiful area of town. Our room was incredibly spacious, much different than a typical hotel room. We had a decent size kitchen fully stocked with anything we might need to make meals. The linens were soft and the towels were thick. The staff are excellent - especially the staff in the restaurant. Everyone there was super friendly. Even our odd request was met: they actually have box fans for guests who request them!! If you're looking for value, convenience, comfort and hospitality, I would HIGHLY recommend The River Inn. When the day comes that we return to the DC area, I won't be looking for any other hotel.

Restaurant and the neighborhood the hotel was located were nice.

We took the whole family to DC for school vacation week. I love the hotel's location. Although it is located in a residential neighborhood, it is very close to (walking distance 2 min) a subway station, which can take you anywhere you want to go: the Mall, the museums, and the zoo. We also love the kitchen, not just a microwave and refrigerator. It has cooking stove, venting hood, sink, pots and pans, cups and plates, salt and pepper, spatula and ladle, coffee pot, toaster, detergent and sponge, paper towel and utensils. I also love that there's a Trader Joe's 2 blocks away. Never thought we could be on vacation and have home dinner and didn't cost a fortune! If you are taking the whole family, this is a really good deal. It is very spacious, like a one bedroom apartment rather than a hotel room. And the house-keeping people did a wonderful job making the place spotless. The only thing I was not used to was the city living. I could hear the police siren or ambulance in the middle of the night. The hotel seems to be on the airplane route, so I could hear the airplanes flew by.

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the River Inn. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room clean and cozy, and the location was ideal (right next to a convenient Metro, but also walking distance to many sights and amenities). I feel like I've finally found the hotel I want to stay in whenever I travel to DC.

Great hotel in a historic neighborhood the property was clean with a friendly and helpful staff

Not enough for excellent but pretty good. Bathtub was a little clogged. Everything in the room was in twos even though they knew there were three of us. Had to ask twice for the third coffee mug and it took them a day to bring it.
