The staff particularly was warm and welcoming. The location of the hotel was great for walking everywhere. I was not a fan of the things like creatures giving the middle finger in the lobby or curses on pillows in the lounge, not child friendly with erotic suggestive behavior on screen in elevator, which made the pictures of children playing hanging in the room and the pillow with the tutu on questionable as to why they were there . And lastly the swipe on the iPad with the legs open. All quite disturbing. .

Hotel was awesome!

When I walked in the room, I was a little taken back. It may be the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. But here I am giving it perfect ratings. The room is brilliantly designed with the latest in electronics and a perfect footprint. I'm sure by design, the bed is located at the end of the room, defining the width of the room. (It's that skinny.) But I had a refridge, great shower, a desk, full-size TV, and an iPad that controlled everything. It was perfectly appointed.

Citizen M is perfect for a solo traveler who wants to stay in a stylish, quirky room. The property was very clean, and I enjoyed the modern furnishings; the ability to control the TV, AC, lighting, and windows shade with a tablet with very cool! My room was small but perfectly usable.

The hotel exudes post-modern quirkiness, with everything automated and the room set up like a tiny loft apartment. Everything from the shampoo to the notepads had clever notes addressed to "citizens." All the features of the room worked fine, and the staff was there to navigate me through the automated checkin process. I stayed by myself; I'm not sure the double bed would have easily accommodated two people since one would be between the other and the wall.

As a solo traveler for my first time in washington I felt secure and the staff was very helpful they even got me free drinks cuz it was my bday. The only bad thing is that they dont have a bigger menu for food just snacks really

Nice hotel. A must to book if you’re visiting DC. Cons: you can hear your neighbors

Perfectly designed minimalist. Designed with a twisted sense of humor. Great bar. We'll be back.

Perfect Location. Clean. Smells so good!! Totally 💯

The stay was uneventful which is exactly what I wish for when traveling. The hotel was clean, and the staff were kind.

While I greatly appreciate the focus towards sustainability, the hotel's decor/ aesthetics and cleanliness, for the price the room was very small. Also the television would not turn on via the tablet or any button on the tv itself. I enjoyed the breakfast selection and the coffee was well made. My greatest disappointment was the extremely poor communication when I asked about the parking options at check-in. The young lady assured me that where I was parked would be ok, even though it was metered, since it was a weekend. I received a $250 parking violation the next morning that I will now need to dispute. I explained my the situation to another employee at the check-in kiosk who said there wasn't anything they could do but she would speak to the first employee that was unclear with me.

An economic option. Tiny but novel rooms that pack a punch. But if you desire space, I would not recommend. Also, the air quality is awful; the airfresheners are overwhelming.

Very nice property, located very close to the Mall and the Wharf. Although the room was pretty small, it was cool to have the ability to control lights, TV, music with the use of a tablet. Breakfast was very good, try their bacon: amazing! The lady helping was not very friendly, but…the Hotel had everything We needed.

Staff is friendly and helpful

The hotel has a cool and playful vibe. the public areas and bar are accommodating. Rooms are typical in CitizenM locations. The only critique (but it is not the hotel's fault) is lack of alternate places to eat nearby.

The hotel was nice and clean and comfortable, but the technology integration is a little over the top. I'm not a fan of the check-in kiosks or having to everything (even raising and lowering blinds?!) on the scratched-up ipad in the room. It just felt like they were trying a little too hard to be cool and trendy without actually having a reason for it. I didn't have a chance to go to the restaurant/bar but it looked good both in ambiance and menu.

Modern, upbeat hotel rooms. Rooms are small but well designed for function.

Not exactly a place to stay if you want to be waited on hand and foot. What it does is provide a convenient launchpad for all the activities around the Mall. Put on your walking shoes and you'll be fully immersed in the cultural heart of the capital.

Hi Christopher,Thank you for choosing us and for sharing your thoughts! I am pleased to hear you were positively surprised by the design of our room. Indeed at a first glance it may seem compact, however we have created it with a mobile citizen in mind, someone who appreciates smart technology, efficiency and luxury essentials, while leaving behind unnecessary features that add to the room price. I hope we get to see you again in one of our hotels soon! Wishing you happy travels,
