The Madison Washington DC, A Hilton Hotel

4.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

My wife and I stayed here over a long weekend to see the sights. We'd never been to DC and wanted a getaway. The hotel is walking distance to some great restaurants, bars, and sights. It's a slightly longer walk to the main attractions (White house, memorials, capitol building...), but still not bad. It seems to sit right in between the attractions to the south, some nice neighborhoods to the north, and Georgetown just to the East; which are all long walks or short Uber rides. The hotel itself was recently taken over by the Hilton and is still in the process of "Hilton-izing" everything. The lobby is large, and offers a nice bar and restaurant, as well as a Starbucks. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. We were always greated and treated very well. The room was a pretty standard, although very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable and their pillows are amazing.

It is a very, very good hotel. I will defintely stay again.

Hotel very nice. Only 4-5 blocks from Metro station, taxis available at all times, good food in restaurant, all employees courteous and helpful, room clean and well stocked. We did have a bad experience with the guests next door to us, but when we complained to the office, the matter was handled promptly and to our satisfaction. Subway, Pizza restaurant, 5 Guys Burgers all within walking distance.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Loew's Madison. The staff was very accommodating, and promptly and graciously fulfilled every request. The room was very comfortable and quiet, and a substantial size for a downtown hotel. It was very convenient to Dupont Circle, but further from the main sites than we thought it would be. We would choose this hotel again. It was cozy and comfortable.

Stayed here for our first family vacation to D.C. Accommodations were nice and staff was friendly. We checked in early and our room was not ready but they do have baggage storage and texted us when our room was ready. Beds were comfortable and room temp was easy to adjust/maintain. We asked maid for extra towels and toiletries and she left plenty each day. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but room overall was clean. Very quiet hotel. Always a long line of cabs out front which was our preferred mode of transportation when needed (cheapest for family of 4). Starbucks in lobby was a nice perk!

In my opinion that the hotel is so expensive and dirty. I didn't find wireless to connect to the internet. I didn't find free water. Orbitz said that it is free refrigerator , But , The refrigerator was full all hotel items. I could't put on the refrigerator to my items. I will never have stay to the hotel, I will not share with any my friends to the hotel. The staffs who work to the hotel weren’t help for me.

Dirty room and bathroom. Restaurant need updating. Staff willing to help but the hotel is not in good condition

First time visiting Washington, excellent location easy to get to all the sights. Whitehouse was easy to walk to. Hotel restaurant a little pricey but the food was very good. Our concierge Innocent was the best! An older hotel but seems to be well maintained. Would definitely stay there ahain.

We loved staying at the Loews Madison Hotel. The room was clean, spacious and the bed slept good. We stayed for 3 nights and I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Washington DC area to stay here. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite.

Extremely good location, close to the White House and plenty of good coffee shops, lunch and dinner places. Would recommend Peet's Coffee and Tea across the street from the hotel instead of the Starbucks offered in the hotel lobby. There a quite a few choices for lunch as well. The Bibimbap close to the hotel it's decent and not expensive . Also there is a Whole Foods store two blocks down with more than enough healthy picks. The hotel it's old but with character. Our room had an extremely noisy AC unit, the view was to an inside court (not great at all) and the carpet needs cleaning to say the least. Kayla from the front desk was excellent!

Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights with another family. The hotel is very close to all attractions: museums, memorials, White House, US Capital and Supreme Court. There are many good restaurants and cafe around the hotel as well. We had a wonderful time in D.C. and our stay at Loews was decent.

Loved our stay! The beds were wonderful and the free coffee in the morning in lobby was a plus!

From the time we got there until we left we were so welcomed. They even waived the pet fee as we came down with our two dogs. I have not felt this welcomed in a hotel in a long time. We cannot wait to go back.

The room was a bit small (deluxe king), but our overall experience was great.

They were very helpful in getting me into my room early.

Everything was great and the Argentian Steakhouse was fabulous, the excellent, delicious & superb quality!

The location is good. You can reach your destination by walk. Rooms are big enough, but the sight viewing is just ok.

The location is great, there are great restaurants to walking distance. The decoration of the hotel is nice with neutral colors however, the rooms are pretty small, as well as the bathrooms are tiny. As typical hotel, you can hear everything from the street, rooms around and halls. I didn't find anything extraordinary about this hotel.

Was a great deal at the last minute. Great atmosphere and very upscale rooms. Great bathroom

The room was attractive as well as comfortable. Room service was very quick, and all staff members I encountered were friendly.
