Well appointed- some of the best staff ever! Enjoyed the stay. Great restaurants— very accommodating. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Beautiful and well maintained. Location was perfect.

Lovely room. Lovely service. I was made to feel very welcome. It was right by the White House which was an extra treat as I didn’t have much time for sightseeing but managed to walk over to the beautiful grounds.

Great hotel in a great location. Highly recommended. It is a wonderful property, historic and comfortable at the same time. The best thing is the staff. They were pleasant, helpful and courteous at all times.

Staff at the entry greeted us each time. Front desk and Concierge provided useful information. My wife loved the breakfasts. Lunch in meeting room included healthy choices. Room was well appointed with comfortable beds and high quality sheets. One of the best Hotel experiences overall.

A great "Spring Break"! Great location, incredibly helpful staff.

For the price, I was utterly disappointed with my stay. I was put in a King size bedroom that overlooked The White House. Initially all seemed wonderful until I realized that I could hear a lot of street noise. I asked if I could move rooms and was given some options such as a queen size bed, a courtyard view and a suite. The condition of the suite to pay another $300. After a cold walk, I returned and with more probing ‘don’t you have any other options?’ , I finally was offered the exact same room one flight higher. The noise problem was resolved! I am just not sure why it took so long for them to offer me that room in the first place? The next morning when I took a shower the knob that switches the water from the tap to the shower was completely broken. It is strange to me that a hotel of this caliber wouldn’t have quality control and realize that the shower was not functioning. I asked them to quickly resolve this as I was rushing to the airport. They were able to open the empty room next-door. At checkout I asked for my receipt. As she was working on it I reminded her that the bathroom would need to be fixed before the next guest came in. After that, she offered to reduce the cost of the room (which had not been my intention but rather ensuring the repair) I was mostly struck by the fact that when I was checking out she didn’t immediately apologize for my inconvenience. There were some minor issues with room service but overall my stay was disappointing.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. Beautiful boutique hotel. Super location!

This hotel is the best I've ever stayed at. Everything from the service the moment you walk in the door to the room to the food and Off the Record Bar are perfect.

Great Stay. Great Location. Walking distance to most sites on the Mall.

This hotel is old, beautiful and perfectly kept. The location in DC is perfect for anyone visiting on business or pleasure. I stayed with a friend and our two 10 yo daughters and they made us feel very comfortable and welcome. They gave us advice on the best way to access the areas we wanted to see and arranged transportation for us that was elegant and perfect. We felt very coddled and safe there. Great experience!

The place is very convenient to the White House. The room deco is great. Reminds me of grandpa's house. Location, location, location.

great effort to please and resolve issues. There were issues certainly with breakfast and availability and standard of service Concierge and reception staff were very helpful and management dealt promptly with our issues. However, for a 5 star hotel we should not have had these issues

Good to stay during the Sakura Cherry blossom, pretty fantastic location. haha~love to stay again.

Loved being across from the White House. The staff was courteous and the room beautiful with a great view of St. John's Church. Had not stayed in 30 years, hadn't changed and every bit as remarkable!!

Staff was anticipating my arrival at the time of check in and the room and all details related to my stay were appropriately anticipated and dealt with very professionally.

We stayed at the Hay Adams while visiting family in Maryland. The room is lovely and comfortable, the room service food was superior and the breakfast in the restaurant was terrific. The hotel was accommodating in every way - we were able to check in early, the concierge mailed letters for us, the housekeeper was lovely and it was all around fantastic.
