The Fairfax at Embassy Row, Washington, D.C.

The hotel has some historic elegance without being "long-in the tooth." Staff were personable and attentive, and the room was spacious and surprisingly quiet give all the traffic outside. Location is terrific.

Hotel staff very nice. There are several steps up to the elevator however they moved the bags up. Breakfast is not included and an expensive so-so buffet is the only option, so try to get this included. Also internet is not free unless negotiated. These were detractors to an otherwise pleasant hotel in an excellent location. Lots of restaurants, cafes and metro very close.

The Fairfax has a storied history of its former residents from four generations of the Bush family to Admiral Chester Nimitz during WWII. It is an older property that is being renovated section by section. There is a quiet elegance. The beds were comfortable and the housekeeping was quite good. The pricing for the location was quite good compared to other properties in the area. We did not eat in the hotel as we had our dinners previously scheduled with friends either around Dupont or a Metro ride away. Cabs are conveniently available at the hotel. There is a bus (G2) that runs in and out of Georgetown, which has no Metro stops. The Metro red line goes to Union Station and Capitol Hill or you can switch at Metro Center to lines taking you to all parts of DC. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.

Rooms are filthy and gross, there are bugs all over the place (bedroom, bathroom, you name it), and - to top it off - the staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful. The lobby is the only area that looks nice. Disgusting and overpriced property - do not stay here!!!

Terrific stay-clean, comfortable, quiet with a very helpful friendly staff,

Very convenient location for us. Staff was welcoming and attentive. The basic charge is reasonable, but the add-ons for internet, parking and breakfast are exorbitant. Finally, the TV service was terrible; even after notifying the staff, the picture and sound were constantly breaking up, or not connecting at all ("no signal").

Needed a room to stay in close to the Embassies. Most embassies aren't too close (>.5 miles). Cabs and uber made everything easy. The Valet parking is very convenient.

Hotel is on embassy row with easy access to tourist attractions. Room was clean but we could hear a lot of loud conversations in the middle of the night. No free parking available at the hotel though . They charge $60 per night for valet parking and $26 for day use parking. The staff told us that street parking overnight is not allowed even though the signs said otherwise.

From the moment we drove up to the hotel and when we entered everyone and all the staff was absolutely wonderful I would recommend this hotel very much

Great Location, it is a great Hotel, this will be our hotel whenever we are in the are for business or pleasure

Loved the location and updates done on a grand old hotel.

Spent long weekend in DC touring the city. First time in DC will definitely come back!

Enjoyed the sight seeing, monuments and museums, and time well spent walking to all of them.

It was fine. I suggest to put toothbrush and toothpaste in the bathroom. They didn't give me the room that I reserved. I checked in late but their reason is not ready yet that shouldn't be.

Nice location to walk everywhere we wanted to go with wonderful restaurants & transportation if needed. It was wonderful to see the world by looling ar the international embassies as a beginning to our trip!

great people to check you in and take luggage to the room. Had dinner 1 night in hotel, food was good, bar tender awesome. Breakfast was buffet style, limited choices but did the trick. Rooms were good, everything needed was included, ie, nail file, q tips, soaps, coffee maker and coffee, fridge. No complaints at all

My recommendation is that they relocate the check-in desk. It's pretty cramped and also un-air conditioned -- not the best first impression. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities nice. They don't scrimp on the quality of the bed linens and the number of bath towels given. Very clean. The strip of black duct tape holding down the electric cord running across the entry was a feat of masterful engineering :). And the cloth bench at the foot of the bed has seen far better days. It's a $15 Uber ride from DCA. I'll try a different hotel next time.

Only one night, but the place is great. The room is really classy.

My daughter and I stayed at the Fairfax in DC recently. Everything at this hotel was wonderful! Friendly staff and very comfortable beds to sleep in. Great location for restaurants too.

Great location. Loved this hotel. Great staff!!! Cute room
