The Fairfax at Embassy Row, Washington, D.C.

The Fairfax is beautiful, and clean. The food is good, and fairly priced. The location is great. You're about a five minute walk from Dupont Circle where you can find many kinds of restaurants and shops. The Wi-Fi is too expensive at $11 per day. It's way cheaper to add data to your phone. Concerning TV the channel selection is pathetic and in SD. But you're not really in DC to watch TV. We stayed for 6 nights. The exhaust fan in the bathroom broke the first afternoon. We reported it twice, but they never fixed it. The bathroom sink started to leak, but they fixed that fairly promptly.

Really fine location in Washington with comfortable and spacious rooms. Quiet and with excellent service. Will come back at next visit to the area.

Very good, clean and confortable,, personal so nice

Embassy Row is a world geography lesson. Great place to walk Georgetown Kalo Rama Dupont circle all within walking distance The Internet connection fees are exorbitant only drawback

The hotel is located in a beautful residential area of Washington. There are lots of restaurants in the neighbourhood and metro access is about 3oo meters away. The room was spacious and up to par with what we were expecting. A beautiful historical building with friendly staff.

My experience at Fairfax was OK ... I came with my husband and son and stayed 2 nights. We wanted beverages in the night and there weren't any vending machines =( Also their restaurant is not open all day =( When my husband came down in the middle of the night to ask the front desk something .... No One Was There ! I had to call from my cell phone in the room 'cause the room phone didn't work and finally he picked up and I told them the situation. Their response was that they do administrative work in the back ...

Overall it was nice. Our partners received bath robes in their rooms. We did not. We were told that they had suites. However one couple did not, yet they also had bath robes. The night manager said she was sending us complimentary robes, but never did. Why say something and not follow through? The breakfast was overpriced and they serve the same thing every day. The day manager Q,is excellent and made our stay memorable. She deserves a pay raise.

First time in Washington DC and our experience was very positive.

I had to give a low rating to the staff because a barmaid was THE RUDEST staff person I ever have seen! I complained to the management about her but no compensation nor any reply was given to me so far...more than 4 days later! Also, they have NO room service and be sure to bring your bedroom slippers! They don't offer them! Hotel is in a nice location and rooms are lovely, quiet and spacious.

Great staff at check in. prompt ancd courteous service. nice location. room was nice althouh would have preferred queen size beds as compared to double beds. overall cannot say anything bad about experience.

Very nice but no bathrobes in the room. Love the toiletries, everything is very comfortable, nice. Excellent location!

The room and bathroom are a a nice size. had repeated problems thermostat. woke up to a freezing room the first two days of my stay because the thermostat/heating would shutdown. staff didnt really seem to care. had to call and go to the front desk to get something done.

We went to DC to visit 3 colleges. Fairfax located on Embassy Row was the perfect location to see American University, Georgetown & George Washington. The proximity to great diverse restaurants was a plus and the accommodations were fantastic! Great beds & bedding! Loved it!

The hotel was nice but way overpriced even for D.C. I spent more money on my room than Anyone in the area and even in the same hotel. Paying $740.00 per day for a room with worn chairs and very few amenities -breakfast was not included; should have stayed at a Comfort or Holiday Inn. The staff was pleasant however.

Nice hotel close to the Metro. The staff was incredibly helpful, as we were tourists. Very nice experience.

All around excellent. 4 mins walk to metro. Tons of restaurants nearby. Maybe time of year-- mid January --but it was ridiculously cheap. Only negative: breakfasts are expensive, but Orbitz gave us coupons for free breakfasts, so we didn't feel any pain.

Beautiful hotel; Perfect location! I visit DC often. This was my first stay at the Fairfax. It is my favorite!

We checked in around 9:30pm after having lost our luggage at the airport. The young man behind check in was rude and never smiled. He also told us that we HAD to pay $45 for valet parking as there were no other options. No mention of this on Orbitz.... Once we were in the room, we found hair on the bathtub side, and the paint is coming off the shower/tub. It looked cheap and nasty. We were in room 309. Would not stay there again. Charming looking from the outside, run down on the inside.

Guest services didn't remove old cotton balls from cotton ball holder. Also did not have any robes, when I called and requested them it took over forty-five minutes for them to come. When the man brought them up he had a horrible attitude.

In all, good room. But wifi is NOT FREE beware of that . After checked in, when I walked into the toilet of my room, there was a fly in it, which is really annoying. Maybe the fly have lied on the towels, so we were afraid of towels UNCLEAN and did not use them. Then I went to the reception desk. They told me that the housekeeping person will kill it for me. Then after when I came back to the room. The housekeeping staff called me and let me out for several minutes because of some heavy smells of insecticide. I went out for dinner for half an hours. After we went back, the fly was still there. No one came into my room and killed it. I went to reception desk AGAIN and let them kill it or give me the insecticide. The housekeep staff told me that they would come into my room and kill it in ten minutes. BUT, the whole night nobody knocked my door or gave me the insecticide. The fly was in the toilet for WHOLE NIGHT, which is really DISAPPOINTED and DISGUSTING. And I can't believe the housekeeping staff or reception desk any more, because they NEVER keep their promise. What's more, I really worry the cleanliness of the hotel!
