I am not sure if it was clear that there is an extra charge per night. That was a bit sneaky!

The modern chic look which was displayed online was what attracted me to spend my weekend celebrating my mother's retirement. Unfortunately, upon arrival (in the actual room), I viewed it differently. Our front door did not close completely, the air was not consistently set throughout our time there (heat went from HELL to ice cold) and called for a hotel microwave (none on premises at all - wasted Mastro's dinner leftovers), self-parking was ridiculously high when you are already paying enough at the hotel (according to valet you are only paying $4 difference for the weekend). The only thing I can say I absolutely loved was the staff! False advertisement - will stay across the street at the Hyatt were you get more bang for your buck and spacious rooms!

First - great beds! Rooms are smaller, but nicely appointed. Staff is great.

The proximity of the Liaison to the Capitol Hill is the biggest advantage. Location is great! Rooms have been updated and front desk staff is efficient and friendly. Restaurant fare is very good and a good noon meeting place.

In general the room was a little dated and in need of repair/updating: paint chipping, tile cracks, etc. The toilet tank broke late night and was running nonstop until turned the water off and then had no facilities in the room. In room coffee not good. Staff was friendly.

Friendly staff. Convenient location. We walked to capital and Smithsonian.

Very handy to the hill, staff was great. Forgot my phone charger and directed me to where to get a replacement

Stayed for 2 nights on the 7th floor. Water pressure was terrible, took a long time in the shower just to get wet.

Seemed limited for things like water, etc to buy and bring to room. Fire station next door blaring their sirens at 1:00 am was an unwelcome surprise. Overall, fine though!

The room was nice, but it would have been better if there was a microwave and at least a refrigerator.

Within walking distance from train station and landmarks.

Pros: - The hotel is very close to the Capitol building and mall. - The room was clean and has a nice housekeeping staff. Cons: - Sleeping was difficult due to the horribly hard bed and noisy worn-out box springs. - Noisy rooms due to being on the street with thin windows, next door to a very active fire station, doors that slam throughout the night, an air conditioner that cycles through the night waking you up, etc. - Expensive food and drinks. Two drinks (which we didn't enjoy) were $30.

The only good thing I'm going to say about this establishment is the location was conveniently located. There also was a manager there the day I experienced my issue, and he was sympothetic to the problem, so I give them credit for that, even though I still got charged. Forget that they are trying to be a sleek and stylish hotel, yet the window tint is crinkling, the wallpaper is separating ...I'll leave it at that. My real issue was with the odor. As soon as I got to my hall way on the 8th floor you could smell the musty odor. It was the same when I opened my room. It is a mix of old smoking rooms with some sort of paint. I don't know if it is on all floors, but it was certainly in my area. I'm not a hard man to please so I dealt with it. I then went downstairs for a drink. Friendly bartender mind you. I then wanted to see the rooftop pool. I specifically traveled for the pool. It was my first vacation of the year. I go up and a gentleman told me I could not use the pool. There was an event going on, fair enough. The next morning I woke up knowing I had a time schedule, and I wanted to use the pool to relax that morning. I go up, and again I was told I couldn't use the pool. That was the breaking point. Orbitz got with the hotel and the Orbitz rep stated they said I could leave. Mind you I was not going to find another place during my vacation. I'm furious I was still charged a resort fee after I was told I would not be. Never again.

proximity to capitol hill, and sightseeing. the room was nice, beds very comfortable

While we regularly audit our partner sites to ensure that our facilities fee is disclosed at the time of booking, we regret that we do not have control over how or where on the site the charge is published.
