I have been staying at this hotel every other week for a year while working on a project nearby. This is a top-notch facility with a true customer service focus. The front desk staff has always been smiling, professional and accommodating. The housekeeping is consistently neat and clean. The exercise room and equipment are clean and I’ve never had to wait for a treadmill. The location is great with a wide variety of restaurants nearby. However, between the full morning breakfast and evening hospitality/snacks Monday-Thursday, I seldom need to go elsewhere. I’ve used their grocery delivery on occasion and it’s worked out perfectly. In a year, I’ve noticed that they have had very little staff turnover so they must be treating their great employees as well as they deserve, contributing to their excellent product. The extra attention to detail here means a lot. Within a few weeks, everyone made a point to call me by name. On special occasions, like the week of Valentine’s Day, or Canada Day, there were special themed treats and a note left in the room. This hotel goes above and beyond to make you feel at home away from home.

Stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament. Quiet and close to arenas in Markham and Richmond Hill. Room was large with a double and pull out sofa. Room had a full size fridge, microwave and a dishwasher as well as a 2 burner stove top. Saved a little bit by not eating out but above average hotel price even with breakfast included.

We tried to check in at 2:00 pm I'm Saturday September 2nd but were rather rudely informed by the lady at the front desk that we were not allowed to check in until three. We understood that if no rooms were ready that was possible but it was in the way she relayed the information. She did not look to see if any rooms were ready nor she did she ever crack a smile once. I passed this same lady the next morning on my way to breakfast and she did not acknowledge my presence or even smile at all. I found the housekeeping staff much more pleasant than this particular front desk girl. We found this most unusual as most Marriott staff excel in this area. It would be my guess that this staff member is likely related to management or she would not be there.

This is a fairly new hotel, so you can expect clean and modern and a little more compact than some other locations. Front desk staff were courteous, but breakfast staff on a Monday morning totally blew it. Breakfast ended at 9:30 and I had my family there by 9:15-9:20. Eggs were empty, oatmeal was empty, waffle batter was empty. More scramble eggs came out at 9:20, but when I asked about the other items, I was told in an exasperated manner that they were closing soon so wouldn't be making any more oatmeal or waffle batter (disappointing myself and the kids). I thought the Marriott understood the hospitality industry! Curiously, this is the first time that I remember that I didn't get a Marriott email asking me for a review of my experience. Is this location afraid of the replies? As for the suite..I have never liked this design where the sink is off the bedroom, outside of the bathroom with shower and toilet. How can you wash your hands or brush teeth etc at night or early morning without waking your partner? Otherwise it is a nice property.

First and last time we will stay here and maybe at any Residence Inns. The cutoff for the free breakfast is very strict and I do understand why but at least be courteous with the guests as they try to get something. There's no need for rudeness. It would have been such a different review if Rosely (think I misspelt her name) had helped us get some cereal and fruit for the kids instead of rolling her eyes and being short with us. She even asked if we always go at 9:30am. Sorry but I'm used to weekend schedule and went down as quickly as we could with 3 young kids in tow. We adults were planning to eat elsewhere. Hampton Inns staff usually gives their customers 5-10 mins to grab some last minute items and a smile and a greeting usually didn't take that long. The 2 bdrm we had was fine except some dust and hair in corner of bathroom. Otherwise the room itself and the hotel was decent. Location is close to many other restaurants.

Standard Residence Inn. Parking is tricky - and chargeable. Pool is clean. Breakfast buffet had wide selection - small shop for candy and drinks behind front desk. Location has limited dining in the area. You need to drive everywhere. Stayed for 1 week while visiting my Mother in the area. Not to bad of a drive to North York - Fairview Mall.

I'll start by saying that, for the price paid, I have to rate this hotel 9/10. Anything negative I mention is just a minor quibble based on having stayed previously in another Residence Inn in Vaughan and twice at the Homewood Suites in Markham. We like the location. Handy for access to Highway 404 North and South and the 407 ETR and even the 401 if you're brave enough! If you plan to journey downtown a lot I would recommend that you stay in Markham rather than Vaughan. I got from the Hotel car park to St Lawrence Market in 23 mins one day. (Not on a weekday) There's little to choose between the Marriot and Homewood Suites in Markham. Price is usually the same. Breakfast is much the same and facilities are much the same. I was annoyed by the lack of a safe in the room at this hotel but they have safes at reception. Also the swimming pool has loads of towels but no poolside shower which is a strange omission. On the plus side the decor is nicer here and the suite we had was larger than the equivalent Homewood Suites one. Don't expect much from the evening food on offer. They had soup one night, cheese and crackers another! We didn't bother because we ate out every day and the breakfast was plentiful. Overall for B&B for 6 people at $200 a night it's a great place to stay and explore Toronto. A downtown suite will cost you double and you'll have to pay for parking every day and fight city traffic every day. It's not worth it. Do your downtown stuff at the weekend and you'll be fine. If we come back again we'll probably stay here again. There's everything you need nearby. Longo's, Timmie's, Costco, Wal Mart and plenty of restaurants and it's only 30 mins from Canada's Wonderland.

We used this hotel for a convention my wife attended at March. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite. The room was very clean and spacious for our family. We were able to host guests for a few hours before going to dinner. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from this hotel. I would definitely come back to this hotel if I need to.

I stayed for a period of 6 nights while preparing for my professional exams. The actual room was excellent. The only downfall was how the staff managed the construction zone that was happening during my stay....in my opinion, there was poor communication to the customers. For instance, after 6pm after my exam, I parked the car at the front parking lot only to receive a message overnight that I needed to move the car by 8am (no notification at the time of parking was displayed to the effect). Poor communication and a lack of project management (from Marriott) had resulted in a stay that would have been perfect, but for the construction zone. While Marriott Management may argue that the construction was beyond their scope of control, they had a responsibility to the customer (first and foremost). When i checked in (and out), i was require to drag my suitcase through gravel and uneven surfaces for atleast 30 metres. I believe the construction should have been managed strategically with little impact to the customer; for the very least, have someone direct customer through the construction zone to ensure customer safety. Maybe Residence Inn Markham can learn from this experience with the view of improving future constructions....

I was in between moving and my family and dog don't have a home. We came here for the kitchenette and the fact that they allow dogs. The people who work here are fantastic! There is one man in particular named David who from night one has gone above and beyond for my family and me. He is always helping and ontop of my needs. He's the nicest man here and he makes my stay feel like home. He even said on night one that he wanted us to feel the same as we do at home and he has helped us with that. My kids love the breakfast and it's very clean. We've been here 19 days and counting.
