My lovely place in San Diego! The perfect balance of price and quality. Unlike several other hotels in this city this place is fully 4 star compliant.

The service is the worst I have ever experienced. The concierge was the only competent one in the hotel. We had to wait for ice for two to three hours when after ordered or call two time to have them come up. Had to call to have room cleaned every day at 4:00 after being out all day. I have traveled around the to many different countries, islands and different types of hotels and this was the only negative comment I have ever written. If we had not payed up front we would have left.

Loved loved loved this hotel. It is right in the heart of San Diego and in walking distance to restaurants and the Gaslamp. Beautiful hotel. Very cleaned and staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying at this Hotel next time I visit San Diego. Beautiful!!!!

I've written reviews before so will keep this short because the fact I keep coming back says a lot. Great hotel, nice amenities, friendly staff, good location with access to public transportation

The hot water was off for the whole day and all the hotel did was offer a free drink at the bar.. then the next night they had a homecoming at the pool that went on tell 11 o'clock you would think that when the preservation was made they would make you aware of this..

Not easy entering the hotel from the outside. Most doors closed or blocked.

Love the old style hotel. Close to everything food, beaches, and the museums. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Staff were very friendly, location was great, bedroom was spacious, gym was nice and it was a great deal that we got. Negatives: pool was too cold and bedroom doors were hard to open (weird thing to make a note about but you will understand if you stayed there). Overall it was good and we would stay there again.

Loved the staff and the place is very classy and clean. Didn’t like the $20/day amenities fee. Pricey for no more than you get, but that is San Diego in general.

THIS PLACE IS OLD AND OUTDATED WALLPAPER IS LIFTING WALLS ARE PAPER THIN IT NEEDS A REVAMP WIRES AND CREEPINESS SICKING OUT THE WALLS IN THE BATHROOM "HOLE IN THE WALL" NOT WORTH THE $ DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST STAY AT THE HYATT OR SOMETHING

Have to pay 40 a day for parking. That was crazy if you are staying there you should get to park for free

The pool is amazing, and the gym is probably the best of any hotel in San Diego. The staff is great, and the hotel is beautiful. Location is close to walk to plenty of restaurants and bars, and the harbor.

From the moment I arrived I felt appreciated and cared for. The hotel is beautiful and the work out facility was amazing. I especially enjoyed the happy hour and pleasant staff.

Amazing place!) location, stuff, services - super

It is a beautiful hotel. Old time, but updated luxury. We had an issue with the internet one night, but it was resolved the next morning. There is a jazz bar almost every night. Located right in the heart of downtown and easy walking distance to many places to dine, as well as, zoo.

For starters, they automatically charge you a $20/day "Access" fee, which was explained to me as covering the free (unsecured) WiFi, and use of the facilities at Aquavie, a huge health club next door to the hotel, with a rooftop pool, and all sorts of stuff. Which is nice, but I was only in town for 2 nights and I knew I was not going to have any time to use the facility. Plus, I didn't need the hotel WiFi. So, they essentially scammed me out of $40. On my first night, I was on the 6th floor of the hotel. They really need double pane windows, because the San Diego light rail stop was directly under my window. On my way out at about 5 pm Friday night, I asked the desk clerk if the light rail "ran all night", because whenever a train pulls away from the stop, it has to honk a VERY loud, klaxon-type horn a few times. I was told the trains "stop at 11". Well, guess what? They don't. All night long under my window, just as I thought I was getting to sleep "HONK HONK!" Worst night's sleep I've had in forever. Also, for some reason, the climate control in that room wasn't working and no matter what I did, the AC never would come on. The next morning I requested a room change, which they accomodated with no fuss (staff was great). I got moved to a room on the 11th floor, on the western side of the hotel facing the ocean. Summary: 1) let me Opt In for the "access fee", esp. since there's no "opt out". 2) Soundproof that glass on rooms over the trains.
