overall was great---they need to pay attention to detail more with cleanliness. the restaurant was fantastic!
Outdated room in the tower. Balcony door couldn't close completely.
Just got home last night from our trip. Loved everything about it except the $25 a day fee to park my car. Hotel is rather dated, however.
It's worth to stay at the Catamaran. Staff was really nice and helpful. The room was really clean and well kept. The facilities were nice. And, we got a killer offer via Orbitz. We stayed in one of the rooms with a kitchen, and were able to have breakfast and snacks. There were condiments, but there was a Ralf near by, so it wasn't a problem. The resort has lots of different amenities, and it's well located.
While at our stay at the Catamaran we enjoyed the beautiful tropical garden. The hotel staff is friendly, rooms ar super comfortable and clean ... one of our favorite hotels to stay while in SAN Diego.
Great grounds and amenities. Their restaurant was first class, reasonably priced with a great breakfast and dinner menu. They're in the process of refurbishing the rooms since they are a popular destination. Their staff was the best aspect of our stay friendly, responsive, and accommodating. We'll return.
Room had a great view, very clean but could use some updating.
Everything was fine, really planned our own agenda. The bed was comfortable.
The grounds are beautiful, the staff is exceptional, very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say was that the room was a bit old in and need of an update. Some of the outlets didn't work and there was a tear in the couch. But it was clean and like i said, the grounds were really nice, we took many walks on the beach and through the grounds. The restaurant staff was so wonderful and there is seating on the beach. We didn't spend much time in the room, so it was all good
Extremely nice experience. Very friendly hotel staff, excellent internet, great view from tower rooms.
We were in SanDiego to visit family. The hotel grounds were well maintained. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Nice large heated pool. Whirlpool was also a plus.
For the price we paid per night this hotel was a disappointment. The food there was over priced and small quantities. It definitely needs a complete remodel. The only good thing about our stay was the location and the fact they had discounted tickets to Sea world and the zoo. They also charged us a 152$ spa fee and we never stepped foot into the salon!! Buyer beware if you are looking for a 4 star resort stay this was not comparable.
Bedding was terrible. AC wasn't working and no one responded to requests to fix it or offered other options. Parking was horrible and charged 23$ a day to park! My family and I will not stay there again. It wasn't worth the money we paid.
We were put in the tower so that was disappointing. I'm sure some of the other room options are more convenient to the bay. Room was nice but certainly not updated. Kitchen and bathroom area especially needed an update. Although it had a nice view being in the tower, the arcadia doors were nearly impossible to open to gain access to the balcony.
The garden and pond was beautiful. We enjoyed the parrots, fish and ducks that occupied the grounds. The tiki lighting at night amitted a romantic, safari type ambiance. Nice touch! The kids enjoyed the heated outdoor pool and arcade room (cheap older games, 50 cent per game). I enjoyed the nice size jacuzzi. The location was excellent! Everything was close..Mission bay, Pacific Beach, restaurants
A little tropical paradise in Pacific Beach. Feels like your own private paradise, convenient to everything as well.
The staff was very friendly. The grounds are very nice. The rooms are old and need a major renovation. To be a guest at the hotel and have to pay for parking I think is wrong, but that's what they do, $23-$28 a night is not right.
It was very laidback, but so laidback that there were trays of dirty dishes left under staircases, in the hallway and I can only imagine where else.
The hotel is decorated with a Hawaiian theme. The lobby is a tropical jungle setting complete with waterfalls and a Jelly Fish aquarium. The common areas are lush with tropical gardens, there are large koi ponds where geese make their home as well as live parrots. The rooms are large and clean but in need of updating. The Tower has some views of either Mission Bay or some ocean views and rooms with kitchens for an extended stay. The hotel has its very own beach on Mission Bay side with lounges, watercraft and bikes. There is a bike path on the beach with a seven mile ride around mission bay or enjoy a nice beech walk. Just off the beech path is the hotel’s restaurant with a very good breakfast menu and a gourmet presentation and a convenient way to start the day with views of Mission Bay. There is a separate bar with a creative tropical drink menu, great Bloody Mary’s and a large tropical aquarium. Adjacent to the bar is outside seating arranged for cozy seating and party seating on a large U shaped sofa. The Hotel is situated a few blocks up from the ocean with lots of shopping and good restaurants an easy walk from the Hotel.
