The location of this hotel is great and the views from your room are spectacular. I was concerned about some of the condition of things but I have been told the hotel has plans for renovation.
Very nice hotel with a great staff. Only criticism place could use some new carpet Would definitely go back
Good place to stay in San Diego, the down fall is that the walls are paper thin and you can literally hear everything room to room.
After my initial stay having difficulty with the internet, they made sure upon my arrival a week later that my room had internet service and also gave me a complimentary dinner. It was evident they wanted to ensure their guests have a pleasant experience.
Bay Club is certainly not a luxury hotel but it's very nice, clean and the staff was super nice. The bathroom counter was huge so spreading out was a breeze. The bed was comfortable and there was no outside noise. We had breakfast the next morning overlooking the boat slips and hills of Point Loma. Our breakfast was delish and prepared exactly how we ordered it. Our food server couldn't have been nicer. Very, very reasonably priced as well. Can't be beat!
The good: It's an older hotel, but nicely kept and in a nice location. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The bad: The WiFi is terrible, and the restaurant located in the hotel gave me food poisoning the first night we were there. We requested a king bed, but got two queens. When I asked why, I was told that people that book through services (like Orbitz) are not guaranteed their preference.
Nice hotel on the marina on shelter Island. Room was nice liked that it had a little fridge. You could hear noise in the hallway And we were close to the lobby.nothing spectacular.
My Mom & I live in different states, so we love getting together for mini vacations once in awhile. One of the reasons we chose the Bay Club was the transportation service. I had an earlier flight out than my Mom did & I wanted her to feel safe. I stopped by Sunday to see about an early check in on Monday & Jazz at the front desk was very helpful. My Mom is elderly, so our vacations mostly involve nice rooms & good food. The Bay Club met our needs perfectly. Miriam at the Quarterdeck Restaurant was very sweet & the meals were great. The view of the marina was a nice backdrop to our meals. It is nice that the drivers are able to take guests to other places in the Point Loma area. I even bought a nice hat at the Gift Shop.
I had a fly in my room and there was a lot of noise coming from the other rooms. No microwave or DVD player in the room.
Very comfortable. Beautiful location. Beautiful view. Decor is tired. Bed was adequate. This room was part of a flight and hotel room package. We paid, on average, about $100 a night. In my opinion this room was worth about $120 a night.
our room, 141, needed a painting and an upgrade.... We had stayed at this hotel before, maybe two years ago, and it was fine. The guest above us created noise until 2 AM, stopped by security after we complained several times. The location is fantastic and the staff seem reasonably friendly.
I stayed with my husband and 2 kids for 2 nights. The staff was very friendly and there was happy hour at the bar 4-7, which included some food items. The hotel was nice and because I stayed mid week it was very reasonably priced, but if I had to pay the weekend rates I don't think I would return. The rooms are decorated nicely, but there are lots of things that need to be updated. The bathroom area was really small and hard for more than 1 person to try and get ready. You can see tell they've recently updated cosmetic things like linens and draperies, but the carpet and showers and things like that need to be replaced. There is also a pool and hot tub, but the pool is small and the hot tub was kinda gross. needed to be drained and deep cleaned for sure. I read on-line ahead of time it was $10/night for parking, but they didn't tell me when I arrived they just charged my card $20 and there's plenty of free parking across the street.
Staff was super helpful in letting us check in early after a long drive. The maid figured out that there were three of us (not just two) and gave us enough coffee during the rest of our stay.
When we arrived they did not have a room for us. I am 84, my wife is 81. They finally gave us a room that had not been used for a long time. The safe would not work...battery flat...Slider (door) would not open...TV controller would not turn on the TV. We had to call for service twice and finally got them fixed. This room was the farthest from the lobby and the only way out. You had to walk the full hallway to get to the lobby, coffee shop, etc. After the first night we asked to have our room made up...(bed etc.) The room was made up around 6:00 to 7:00 that evening. We were charged $10.00 a day for parking, The food was OK, but not great. The service was poor, and at the front desk the attendant walked away and just let the customers wait and was curt. All in all, it was way over priced...they charged for everything. Would not stay at that place again!
Nice hotel close to airport. Busy street although it's a small island.
Reasonably priced hotel with good dining, nice pool and hot tub. Sunset views of the marina from private balcony excellent. All rooms have water views.
I have to admit I loved this area. This is my first time actually staying in San Diego and this place was perfect. The hotel view was gorgeous, the bed was very comfortable and the room very clean overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I love the access to anywhere around the bay. I would highly recommend this hotel and to me it was not expensive at all. The only thing is the parking you have to pay $10 but honestly park across the street, there is plenty of space for you to park outside, it is very safe and the locals are so friendly.
Nice room facing the marina. Very quiet and nice view at night.
Beautiful hotel, the location was wonderful! The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious! We didn't want to leave! Will definitely stay there again.
Hotel was nice, great food!! The pool and gym were not available for use during our stay which sucked! However I enjoyed it. They parking is tight, and it doesn't help when people can't park and stay within the lines. Overall I give this hotel 3***
