I like this property because it is very close to The Gas Lamp district.
Accessible to nightlife and restaurants. Walkable and safe to Balboa Theater. We had a great time.

This is a mediocre hotel. The rooms are clean but show signs of age, particularly bathroom Wood was cracking and needs updating. The floor plan for our king room was not functional (ie, the coffee maker is in a drawer and you have to take it out and find an open outlet to use it). This place should also charges a destination fee of $34. This was for a couple waters and free Wi-Fi and pool access. This is standard at most hotels especially since the pool is incredibly small for this size of hotel. The hotel also has a $60 parking fee per day. I parked across the street for $17 based on a tip from one of the valets. On the positive side, the staff and and approach to customer service were excellent. I was always greeted with a smile and they were very helpful at all times. I would only go back to this if it was as cheap as standard hotels. Nothing super special here.
The location is great, but the property is starting to show it's age. Our room door would not close on it's own, we had to pull it shut to ensure that it was in fact closed.
We visit San Diego often, specifically for Padre games, so we love the convenience of being right next to Petco Park and having the skybridge from the hotel to the stadium. Plus so many great places to dine within a short walking distance.

Convenient and beautiful hotel next to Petco Park in San Diego. Access to the ballpark was extraordinary. The room was spacious and clean. Front desk service was exemplary. Would have been nice to have someone open the doors as we entered.

Great location in the downtown area. Hotel staff was excellent, the room was great it had good view of Petco park.
I liked the proximity to the San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park, as well as to reasonably-priced, good-quality restaurants within walking distance. I did not like the fact that when I asked if there was a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, the only options they told me about were taxi and Uber (about $40), not the adjacent Pronto light rail and rental car shuttle combo, which I found out about on my own, and only cost me a total of $2.50.
