Awesome Place to Stay!

This was our second time staying here. It’s in a great location close to town but also secluded and quiet. Check in was easy and received a couple texts during the week just checking to make sure things were good. Will definitely stay here again.

Stunning views

We just got back after spending a week at this beautiful home. The neighborhood is quiet and the views are gorgeous! The home is well stocked and very clean. In the morning we’d wake up and have coffee on the deck and look at the trees, wildlife, and “our” mountain. After spending the day out and about we’d return in the evening for a glass of wine and stargazing on the deck. The location can’t be beat, we will absolutely be back!

Wonderful Stay

The property was great and we had a great stay, but we were lacking some details for check in. When we first arrived, we entered on the wrong side of the house. The front door along with parking was on the other side of the house, off of Elk Ridge Trail. There was also enough space to park an F150 and a 14 foot trailer, but it did require that we unhook and reconnect it to turn around. Other than this, our stay was perfect.

Secluded Escape

The drive from town is a beautiful 10 minute drive. The home is nice. In early September we slept with the windows and deck door open and it was nice a cool. Kitchen is decently equipped.

Family Get Together

We very much enjoyed our stay. We had 3 generations coming from 3 different states to enjoy the Colorado outdoors. The facilities were great and we especially liked that the house was remote and isolated, yet close enough to town.

Quiet beautiful retreat

We enjoyed our stay and particularly loved the deck with its beautiful views. The kitchen is very well equipped and it was nice to have several TVs in the rental.

Idlewild Estates

Property was great for our needs. Dish TV does not work; trees are interfering with signal, but we wanted remote and TV was not needed. Trash is an issue; the can must be walked about a 1/4 mile to pick up point.

Great home for large family

The property was in a great location; secluded yet quite accessible to Ouray. The kitchen was wall equipped. Enjoyed the living space with stereo and toys. Overall the house was well kept. We did have an issue with a door being accidentally locked making one of the living spaces inaccessible. Management was responsive being a weekend, and they sent a locksmith the following day. We did run out on some supplies (hand soap, tissue) for a large family staying multiple days and encountered a couple cleanliness concerns (previous guests spilled food in the oven and left dirty laundry under the bed). Overall the property was suitable, and we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful views from the Deck!

We have rented many houses in the Ouray area and this house by far had the best views! This house was perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids. The only thing that I would say bad is that we were left with only enough toilet paper for 1 day and didn't realize it until we needed it .. But all in all a perfect house to stay at with an amazing back deck to enjoy the view. Thank you for letting us stay was such an enjoyable vacation .

Complete, child friendly, clean, beautiful house at a great location

We stayed 4 nights at the Lewis house and loved it! The house was spotlessly cleaned, fully equipped and has a lovely fire place and terrace at 2 sides. The view is gorgeous and location efficiently near Ouray town. Our kids (3 and 5) were pleased to have a little kids table and chairs and also some children books which all came with the house. Bed fence and cot also available in the house. The house is decorated with warm colours and cosy details. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a spacious dining table. A few mornings we had deer around the house too. Perfect holiday home!

Pleasant home and visit

This house is quiet, pleasant, clean and comfortable. It is nicely situated off the beaten track, with equal access to Ouray and Ridgway, which suited our needs perfectly. It’s private location is perfect for getting away and relaxing in your own space. The only hiccup for us was finding enough space to stash suitcases when not using them.

Peace and quiet!

We loved the quiet and peaceful location. The Overlook house is seven miles from Ouray, but it is very easy to drive into town. The house had plenty of room for our family of five. We made dinner every night in the kitchen and ate on the delightful outside porch. At night, the stars are bright and beautiful too. This house was a perfect escape from our busy city lives.

Loved the views...spacious and homey setting...easily accessible to town...a private escape for family time! The only thing we wished for was more wildlife in the area.
